Rangers winger Artemi Panarin has gotten off to a surging start this season and he just earned himself NHL's Second Star of the Week honors.

Panarin has picked up right where he left off after his Hart Trophy worthy campaign last year, as he became the first player in franchise history to record multiple points in each of the team's first four games.

Though that streak was snapped during Saturday night's win over the Toronto Maple Leafs, he still pushed his point-streak to five games, as he found the back of the net with an empty-netter.

Prior to that, he put together his best effort of the young season as he recorded four points, including his eighth career hat trick during New York's win over the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night.

Overall, Panarin finished a perfect week for the scorching hot Blueshirts second in the league with four goals, four assists, and 10 shots on goal across the team's three games.

So now, just five games into the season, he finds himself awfully close to the top of the early Hart Trophy leaderboards with a league-leading 12 points (six goals, six assists).

If the Rangers hope to make some noise in the loaded Metropolitan Division again this season, they'll need the four-time All-Star to continue producing like they know he can.
