The Rangers have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with D Libor Hajek.
The 23-year-old played 44 games for the Blueshirts last season, tallying two goals and two assists as well as a plus-two rating.
The Czech Republic native, who was traded to the Rangers from the Tampa Bay Lightning back in 2018, has played in 77 career NHL games -- all in New York. He should be viewed as a depth piece on the blue line heading into the new season under head coach Gerard Gallant.
But there is some competition to worry about with Patrik Nemeth, Jarred Tinordi and others on the depth chart. Hajek, though, is a big body defenseman who president and GM Chris Drury is looking to stack up on the back end.
