A week after Chris Mullin officially stepped down, St. John's is still looking for their next coach.

In the latest blow to the program, Loyola-Chicago coach Porter Moser rejected an offer from the school on Tuesday, per Zach Braziller of the New York Post.

Moser, who has coached the Ramblers since 2011 and led the team on a Cinderella run to the Final Four last season, was offered the job on Monday.

Poser's candidacy was a surprising one and would have been challenging for the 50-year-old head coach, who has little ties to the area -- a disadvantage when it comes to recruiting.

Moser has a 141-125 record with Loyola-Chicago and is 246-225 in his career. He was previously the head coach at Arkansas-Little Rock and Illinois State, with a stop at Saint Louis as an assistant before taking over the Loyola-Chicago program.

Mullin stepped down as head coach on April 9 after four years with St. John's.

Other potential options for head coach include Yale's James Jones and Iona's Tim Cluess, who would be interested if the school came back to him, according to Braziller.
