The public has not heard from Steve Cohen, Sandy Alderson and Michael Conforto in recent days, leading to some online speculation that the Mets and Conforto could be close on a contract extension.

Allow us to clear that up for you: They’re not.

There’s nothing doing there at the moment.

As SNY reported last month, the Mets did make Conforto an offer this spring, but talks did not progress.

Conforto could seek upwards of $200 million in free agency this winter.

For now, Mets fans will have to content themselves with thoughts of watching Francisco Lindor for the next 11 years. Conforto’s future with the team remains uncertain.
