Two weeks ago, Metta World Peace made his Eastern Conference finals prediction by saying the Knicks would face the Pacers.

On Friday, he updated his prediction: the Knicks will make the NBA Finals and lose to the Lakers.

Not only that, but he thinks Kristaps Porzingis will win Finals MVP despite the loss. (Only once -- Jerry West in 1969 -- has the Finals MVP been on the losing team.)

Of course, New York's over/under for the 2018-19 season, set by Westgate Las Vegas, is 29.5 wins, the fifth-fewest among all NBA teams.

Meanwhile, the Lakers, who revamped their roster in the offseason by acquiring LeBron James, would still need to get past the two-time defending champion Warriors.

The Knicks and Lakers met in the NBA Finals three times in four years from 1970 to 1973. New York won in seven games in 1970, lost in five games in 1972 and won in five games in 1973, which was the last time the Knicks won it all.

A Knicks-Lakers Finals matchup, of course, would be a matchup of two of World Peace's former teams. He played with the Knicks in the 2013-14 season and with the Lakers from 2009-13 and 2015-17.
