Who is starting for the Mets?

Max Scherzer, who earned a victory last time on the mound against the Atlanta Braves on Aug. 17. The righty struck out eight over 6.1 IP, allowing four earned runs on three hits with three walks.

In 17 starts this season, Scherzer has pitched to a 9-2 record and a 2.15 ERA with 134 strikeouts. He struck out six Yankees over seven innings on July 27, and improved to 4-4 in his career over 10 starts against them.

Who is starting for the Yankees?

Domingo German, who allowed three earned runs on five hits while walking one and striking out six in 4.2 IP against the Tampa Bay Rays on Aug. 17.

In just six starts this season, German has a 1-2 record and a 4.45 ERA.
