The Mets scored four runs in the top of seventh to come back and beat the Atlanta Braves 4-3 on Tuesday night.

Here are some key takeaways …

- Making his second big league start, Tylor Megill gave the Mets another solid effort. Featuring a good mix of his fastball, breaking ball and changeup, Megill struck out the side in the first inning and held the Braves scoreless through the fourth inning.

Megill was terrific through the first four innings, but the Braves finally got to him in the fifth inning. After Freddie Freeman singled with two outs to put runners at the corners with two outs, Ozzie Albies launched a three-run homer over the wall in right-center to break a scoreless tie and put the Braves up 3-0.

His night ended after 5.0 innings, allowing three earned runs on five hits while striking out eight and walking two.

- Charlie Morton threw seven scoreless innings against the Mets the last time he faced them, got off to another great start on Tuesday night, holding the Mets hitless through his first three innings. Michael Conforto finally broke that up with a single up the middle in the fourth, but he was stranded on the bases.

- After being held to just three hits through the first six innings, the Mets put their first two runners on against Morton in the seventh, as Dom Smith singled and Kevin Pillar worked a walk. James McCann then came up huge, slamming a three-run homer to tie the game 3-3. McCann's seventh home run of the season was the big hit the Mets have so desperately needed of late. It also chased Morton from the game.

- Still in the seventh, Jose Peraza ripped a double one hop and over the wall in left field off of AJ Minter. A couple of batters later, Francisco Lindor drilled a single into center to score Peraza and put the Mets up 4-3.

- After Drew Smith, Trevor May, and Seth Lugo all pitched scoreless innings, the Mets turned things over the Edwin Diaz for the ninth. Ehire Adrianza slammed a ball to deep right that was barely foul (confirmed by replay), but Diaz was able to close the door 1-2-3 to earn his 17th save of the season.
