Six takeaways from Saturday's game
1. David Peterson tossed an absolute gem. He kept the Braves at zero until Adam Duvall hit a solo home run with two outs in the sixth inning. But that was his only blemish, as he allowed just one run on three hits while walking four and striking out a career-high 10 batters.

2. The first three Mets to the plate all walked. With one out, Robinson Cano drove in two runs with an opposite field single to give them an early 2-0 lead.
3. Robinson Chirinos added an RBI double in the fifth, as Andres Gimenez scored all the way from first following his infield single.
4. Miguel Castro loaded the bases while facing just four batters, forcing manager Luis Rojas to bring in the lefty Justin Wilson. Good thing he did that - Freddie Freeman grounded into a 4-6-3 inning-ending double play to hold the Mets lead at 3-1 going into the bottom of the seventh.
5. Jeurys Familia allowed a solo home run to former Met Travis d'Arnaud to cut their lead to 3-2 in the eighth inning, but escaped without further damage.
6. In the eighth inning, the Mets added some insurance. Following leadoff back-to back home runs from Dominic Smith and Cano, with one out and the bases loaded, Brandon Nimmo added a two-run single to put the Mets up 7-2.

Rick Porcello will face the Braves at Citi Field, who will return with Kyle Wright on SNY at 1:10 p.m.
