Five takeaways from Sunday's game

1. DeGrom flourished once again, as he was in a groove in this day game. His only blemish was a homer to Andrew Knapp, but other than that, he let up only two other hits over seven innings of work. He also set down 12 hitters by strikeout and had a career-high 35 swings and misses. DeGrom's ERA is now 1.69 on the season.

2. The Mets' 17 hits is a season-high, and that was with Phillies ace Aaron Nola on the mound. Of those hits, five of them went over the fence, including Pete Alonso's two and Jeff McNeil's first of the season.

3. Dominic Smith, have yourself a day. a 4-for-5 performance from Smith came with three doubles and three RBI. He continues to have a great season with a .327 average.

4. Alonso really seems to be coming around at the plate. He's hit a homer in four of his last five games.

5. Michael Conforto is also remaining consistent at the plate, owning a 3-for-4 day with three runs scored and two doubles.
