The Phillies swept the Mets, who lost the final game of the three-game set 6-2 on Sunday. >> Box score

Six takeaways from Sunday's game

1. Rick Porcello’s afternoon did not get off to a hot start. Jean Segura knocked a triple on the second pitch he threw. Two pitchers later, Rhys Hoskins drove him in with an RBI single. Bryce Harper added a bloop single of his own, but Porcello retired the next three batters to get out of even further trouble.

2. Andres Gimenez tried to get the Mets on the board by taking advantage of an error by rookie Alec Bohm. While he was stealing, Wilson Ramos hit a slow dribbler to third, with Bohm overthrowing Hoskins. With the ball rolling far down the line, Gimenez raced for the plate, but was gunned down at home by Hoskins.

3. The Mets got to their former pitcher Zack Wheeler in the fourth inning. With the bases loaded on a 1-2 count with two outs, Luis Guillorme drove in two runs with an opposite field single. Guillorme is 11 for 24 (.458) in nine games this year.

4. Porcello found his rhythm after the first inning, shutting out the Phillies in his next four frames of work. But in the sixth inning, J.T. Realmuto and Bohm hit back-to-back doubles, with Bohm's tying the game. Andrew McCutchen hit a long two-run homer to give the Phillies a 4-2 lead.

5. Wheeler had quite the revenge game against his former squad. He went seven innings for the 31st time since the beginning of the 2018, the third-most in baseball behind only Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer. He allowed just those two runs in the fourth on six hits and a walk while striking out four.

6. Realmuto hit a slow dribbler to J.D. Davis at third, but the ball squeaked by Dominic Smith at first base, allowing Neil Walker to score. Didi Gregorius added an RBI single to give the Phillies a 6-2 lead in the seventh inning.
