The Mets offense stalled and Marcus Stroman collapsed late in a 7-1, series-dropping loss to the Reds at Citi Field.

Five things to know from Sunday's game

1. Marcus Stroman started his day strong, keeping the Reds scoreless and with just two hits through the first 3.2 innings.

But things unraveled a bit with two outs in the fourth, as Max Schrock hit a solo home run to right to put Cincy on the board first, and then back-to-back hits nearly gave the Reds a second run, but Eugenio Suarez was thrown out at home to end the inning.

2. After being no-hit through the first 4.2 innings, Kevin Pillar reached on an infield single to get the Mets out of trouble.

3. The Reds added a cushion to their 1-0 lead in the sixth, with a double, followed by a triple and sac-fly turning it into a 3-0 game.

After a walk and wild pitch, Stroman exited the game. He finished his day going 5.2 innings, allowing four earned runs -- Miguel Castro's back-to-back walks brought in a runner with the bases loaded to tack on another run for Stroman -- on eighth hits and a walk while striking out four.

4. Jeff McNeil hit his sixth home run of the season in the next frame, crushing a shot to center to cut the deficit to 4-1.

5. The Red pulled away in the top of the ninth to put the Mets away for good, scoring three runs in the frame to take a 7-1 lead -- which they held onto for good.

The Mets could only muster up three hits on the day, while the Reds knocked off 11.
