The Mets' search for a new general manager is ongoing, with at least one interview scheduled this week.

The team was disappointed that former pitcher and current MLB executive Chris Young declined the job for family reasons (he lives in Texas), but is moving forward.

Michael Hill, who interviewed for a president of baseball operations job that no longer exists, has not been in recent discussions with the Mets. He and the team spoke after their initial interview, but have had no contact since team president Sandy Alderson announced the shift to a GM search. Despite that, he has not been ruled out.

The team is not in a rush to make a hire, and is conducting offseason business under Alderson. The Mets signed reliever Trevor May this week, and are pursuing George Springer and James McCann, among other free agents.
