The Mets are optioning suspended pitcher Jacob Rhame to Triple-A Syracuse Friday in order to create room for Jacob deGrom. They also sent Luis Guillorme to Syracuse and recalled Corey Oswalt.

DeGrom was activated from the 10-day injured list to start Friday's game against the Brewers, weather permitting, after a Monday MRI on his right elbow came back clean. DeGrom will start Friday regardless of whether there's a rain delay, and will pitch Saturday if the game's rained out.

Rhame was suspended two games by MLB on Thursday for "intentionally throwing a pitch in the area of the head of Rhys Hoskins," according to Chief Baseball Officer Joe Torre. Rhame is appealing tjhe suspension; should he remain suspended for any amount of time after the appeal is heard, Rhame's suspension would begin once he returns to the majors.

Oswalt essentially ruled himself out as a legitimate rotation option because of his lone MLB appearance this season. He relieved Jason Vargas on April 13 in Atlanta after Vargas could only get one out while facing six batters. Oswalt proceeded to give up five runs in 3.2 innings, allowing six hits and walking four batters.
