Mets pitcher Robert Gsellman is headed to the injured list with a lat injury, league sources told SNY.

SNY's Steve Gelbs said during the Mets broadcast Monday that Gsellman tore the muscle and will be out 6-8 weeks.

The injury comes days after the team placed Joey Lucchesi on the 10-day IL with left elbow inflammation, and represents another hit to their pitching depth and ability to cover innings.

Gsellman, 27, has a 3.71 ERA in 15 games this year. He did not pitch between June 8 and June 19, when he allowed three hits on two runs in two innings.
