Who is starting for the Mets?

David Peterson, who is coming off a quality start his last time out, allowing three earned runs over 6.0 innings against the Texas Rangers on July 1. Peterson has been particularly good for the Mets over his last three starts, allowing just five earned runs over 18.1 innings (2.45 ERA). While his role has fluctuated between starter and reliever, Peterson has done everything the Mets have asked of him this season, pitching to a 3.24 overall ERA.

Who is starting for the Reds?

Graham Ashcraft, who will be making his ninth career start. The rookie right-hander has pitched to a 4.53 ERA, but he was roughed up his last time out, allowing seven earned runs in just 2.1 innings against the Chicago Cubs. The 24-year-old has allowed 4+ runs in three of his last four starts.

Upcoming schedule

The Mets return home to Citi Field on Thursday, beginning a four-game series against the Miami Marlins at 7:10 p.m.

Trevor Williams is expected to make the start for the Mets, while the Marlins will go with lefty Daniel Castano.
