Every Friday, we'll be taking a look at how the Mets' top prospects (their MLB.com Top 100 Prospect rankings are in parenthesis) are faring in the minors.

With the minor league season coming to an end, here's how things are looking...

Peter Alonso, 1B, Triple-A Las Vegas (No. 63) -- ETA 2019

The 23-year-old Alonso won't be getting promoted to the majors this season -- instead heading to the Arizona Fall League. He's heartbroken over it, but it isn't impacting his performance. Alonso has hit safely in nine of his last 10 games, jacking three homers during that span. In 128 games this season between Double-A Binghamton and Vegas, Alonso is hitting .278/.393/.561 with 33 homers, 29 doubles, and 113 RBI.

Andres Gimenez, SS, Double-A Binghamton (No. 59) -- ETA 2020

The 19-year-old Gimenez -- who most consider the Mets' top prospect -- has gone 9 for his last 31 with a double and triple. Overall for Binghamton, Gimenez -- who is one of the youngest players in Double-A, is hitting .295/.350/.380 with 10 stolen bases in 34 games. Before being promoted, he hit .282/.348/.432 with six homers, 20 doubles, four triples, and 28 stolen bases in 85 games for High-A St. Lucie.

Justin Dunn, RHP, Double-A Binghamton (No. 98) -- ETA late-2019

Dunn, 22, was hit hard on Aug. 24, allowing eight runs on eight hits in 3.1 innings. He recovered in his start on Aug. 29, allowing three runs in 6.0 innings while walking three and striking out seven. Despite the aberration of his start on Aug. 24, Dunn is in the midst of a terrific season, with a 3.38 ERA and 1.30 WHIP to go along with 148 strikeouts in 130.1 innings (23 starts).

Franklyn Kilome, RHP, Double-A Binghamton (NR) -- ETA late-2019

The 23-year-old Kilome, who the Mets acquired from the Phillies last month for Asdrubal Cabrera, has excelled since joining Binghamton, where he has a 3.13 ERA and 1.07 WHIP with 35 strikeouts in 31.2 innings (six starts). Showing some fire, Kilome was ejected in the third inning of his start on Aug. 28 after hitting a batter in retaliation.

David Peterson, LHP, High-A St. Lucie (NR) -- ETA 2020

The 22-year-old Peterson has not allowed a run over his last three starts (18.0 innings) while allowing just six hits, walking four and striking out 17. He has righted the ship since a rough five-start stretch with St. Lucie that -- according to ESPN's Keith Law -- coincided with a dead arm period. Between Low-A Columbia and St. Lucie this season, Peterson has a 3.29 ERA and 1.20 WHIP with 106 strikeouts in 123.0 innings (21 starts).

Anthony Kay, LHP, High-A St. Lucie (NR) -- ETA 2020

The 23-year-old Kay struggled in his last start, allowing five runs on five hits while walking four and striking out two in 3.1 innings. In his first season back since Tommy John surgery, Kay started strong after being promoted to St. Lucie, allowing two runs or fewer in his first four starts. It hasn't been smooth sailing since then. Overall, he has a 4.04 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in nine starts there.

Mark Vientos, SS, Rookie Level Kingsport (NR) -- ETA 2021

Vientos, 18, has eight hits in his last 22 at-bats. Overall this season, he's hitting .287/.389/.489 with 11 homers, 12 doubles, and 52 RBI in 60 games.

Jarred Kelenic, CF, Rookie Level Kingsport (No. 67) -- ETA 2021

The 19-year-old Kelenic, who the Mets selected with the No. 6 pick in the MLB Draft earlier this month, is hitting .253/.350/.431 with five homers in 44 games since his promotion to Kingsport. Since making his professional debut, Kelenic is hitting .286/.371/.468 with six homers, six triples, 10 doubles, 15 stolen bases, and 42 RBI in 56 games.

Ronny Mauricio, INF, Rookie Level Kingsport (NR) -- ETA 2022

The 17-year-old Mauricio, who the Mets gave $2.1 million last season as an international free agent, started his professional career on a 20-game hitting streak, before it was snapped on July 13. He was recently promoted to Kingsport, where he's been a bit slow to get off the ground. Overall this season, he's hitting .273/.304/.410 with three homers, three triples, 16 doubles, and 35 RBI in 57 games.
