Every Friday, we'll be taking a look at how the Mets' top prospects are faring in the minors...
Peter Alonso, 1B, Triple-A Las Vegas -- ETA 2018
The 23-year-old Alonso has an odd batting line of .188/.337/.425 since his promotion to Triple-A about a month ago. He has five homers since his promotion, including one he hit on Thursday night as he went 2-for-4 with a homer and double. With Dominic Smith potentially heading back down to the minors soon, a door could be opening soon for Alonso at the big league level.
Jeff McNeil, INF, Triple-A Las Vegas -- ETA 2018
Despite him being 26 years old and one of the most productive hitters in all of the minors this season, McNeil remains in Triple-A. McNeil is hitting .386/.444/636 in 22 games in Vegas after hitting .327/.402/.626 earlier this season in 57 games for Double-A Binghamton. McNeil, who played third base on Thursday night a few days after Mickey Callaway said he was "purely a second baseman," has 18 homers this season.
Justin Dunn, RHP, Double-A Binghamton -- ETA late-2019
Dunn, 22, allowed four runs on six hits while walking three and striking out five in 5.0 innings during his most recent start. He has a 3.03 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 43 strikeouts in 38.2 innings (six starts) since his promotion to Binghamton. Before being promoted, Dunn -- the Mets' first round pick in 2016 who is having a huge comeback season -- had a 2.36 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in nine starts for High-A St. Lucie.
David Peterson, LHP, High-A St. Lucie -- ETA 2020
The 22-year-old Peterson was solid in his first three starts after being promoted to St. Lucie, before getting hit hard during his last two starts. Peterson has a 5.93 ERA and 1.76 WHIP with St. Lucie after posting a 1.82 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in nine starts for Low-A Columbia.
Andres Gimenez, SS, High-A St. Lucie -- ETA 2020
Gimenez, 19, is more than three years younger than the average player in High-A ball, making his .278/.346/.430 line more impressive than it appears on the surface. Gimenez, who has six homers and a league-leading 26 stolen bases, has six hits in his last 15 at-bats -- including a double and triple.
Anthony Kay, LHP, High-A St. Lucie -- ETA 2020
The 23-year-old Kay has been stellar since being promoted to St. Lucie, allowing just four runs in 13.1 innings while walking four and striking out nine. Kay, who is returning from Tommy John surgery, had a 4.54 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with 78 strikeouts in 69.1 innings (13 starts) earlier this season for Low-A Columbia.
Mark Vientos, SS, Rookie Level Kingsport -- ETA 2021
Vientos, 18, has flown under the radar a bit. He's hitting .267/.343/.367 with one homer in the first 15 games he's played for Kingsport, where he was recently joined by...
Jarred Kelenic, CF, Rookie Level Kingsport -- ETA 2021
The 18-year-old Kelenic, who the Mets selected with the No. 6 pick in the MLB Draft earlier this month, picked up right where he left off after being promoted from the Gulf Coast League Mets. He's 4-for-10 with two homers after hitting .413/.451/.609 with one homer in 12 games in the GCL.

Ronny Mauricio, INF, GCL Mets -- ETA 2022
The 17-year-old Mauricio, who the Mets gave $2.1 million last season as an international free agent, has started his professional career on a 20-game hitting streak. Overall, he is hitting .354/.341/.549 with two homers, two triples, and six doubles.
