SNY's Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling answer questions from Mets fans...

If the Mets GM were to trade for a starter right now, who should it be and why? - @certifiedAntMan

GARY: There are short-term and long-term answers to this question. Short-term, filling in around the edges, like the recent signing of Vance Worley, make sense. As we get closer to the trading deadline, Zack Scott can focus on difference-makers. My favorite in that group would be German Marquez of the Rockies. Controllable through next year, very consistent, groundball pitcher.

RON: They should get German Marquez.

What do you think is the secret to your success as a group? - @DawnStarwald

GARY: We are very fortunate to have a low-ego group. Everyone is focused on what is best for the broadcast, not being the star. And our ace in the hole is our producer, Gregg Picker, who is the brains and creativity of the operation.

KEITH: We have no egos. Every one of us knows our job and no one tries to one up the other. We are truly a team.

RON: A combination of chemistry and hard work.

For Keith and Ron, what is the weirdest game you ever played in? - @chefskells22

KEITH: July 4, 1985 in Atlanta. The famous fireworks game, ending about 3 in the morning.

RON: On July 4, 1985, I pitched in the Mets - Braves 19 innings game in Atlanta.

Favorite ballpark food or dugout/clubhouse snack? - @KyleClahane

GARY: Tootsie pops.

KEITH: Traditional hot dog.

RON: Foie Gras in Cincinnati.

What was the best trade the Mets ever made and why? - @MichaelPMuhall

GARY: It was definitely the trade for Keith. It brought the Mets the credibility and leadership they needed to win a championship. 1A is the Mike Piazza trade.

KEITH: Lots of great trades. Jesse Orosco for Jerry Koosman. Myself for Neil Allen and Rick Ownbey. David Cone for Ed Hearn. The Sid Fernandez trade. Mike Piazza.

RON: Keith Hernandez.

What is your favorite place to travel to? - @flameswalk

GARY: Chicago.

KEITH: Chicago, San Diego, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Miami.

RON: Nice, France -- and Club 55 in St. Tropez in the summer.
