The Mets received trade interest in beleaguered closer Edwin Diaz ahead of Monday's trade deadline, but told interested clubs that they didn't intend to move him, according to league sources.

Diaz, along with Robinson Cano, was the centerpiece of the 2018 trade that sent top prospect Jarred Kelenic to Seattle. After one and a half shaky seasons in New York, his value is down. The Mets did not see the point in selling low on Diaz.
