Mets INF Jed Lowrie has not played yet this season due to an assortment of injuries, but is making progress as he attempts to return. Here are the latest updates...
Sept. 7, 3:00 P.M.:
The Mets activated Lowrie from the 60-day IL before Saturday's 7:10 p.m. game against the Philadelphia Phillies, the team announced.
Sept. 6, 10:45 PM:
Lowrie went 0-for-4 as a DH in his rehab assignment with the Brooklyn Cyclones on Friday night. The Cyclones won the game 4-3 over the Hudson Valley Renegades, despite Lowrie's quiet night.
Sept. 5, 9:12 PM:
After transferring his rehab to Brooklyn on Wednesday, Lowrie made his impact felt for the Cyclones on Thursday. The infielder blasted a 373-foot home run in the fourth inning, which ended up being the difference in the Cyclones' 1-0 win over the Hudson Valley Renegades in Game 2 of the New York-Penn League Semifinals series.

After the game, Lowrie told reporters that it's yet to be determined whether or not Thursday's game would be his final one before joining the Mets.

Lowrie's first season as a Met has been all but washed away due to injury, but he remains hopeful that he can make an impact in the majors this season, and help the Mets push towards the playoffs down the final stretch.
"You find a way to just continue to get better," Lowrie said after Thursday's game. "It's obviously been frustrating, but like I said, you just continue to push and try to get better. ... I just want to be healthy and do what I can to help us win."
Sept. 4, 10:38 AM:
With the minor league season over for all of the Mets' affiliates except Short-Season Brooklyn, Lowrie will transfer his rehab assignment to Brooklyn, where the team is about to begin the playoffs.
Manager Mickey Callaway said that Lowrie feels he needs more time to get ready, necessitating the continuation of his rehab assignment with Brooklyn.
Aug. 29, 8:16 p.m.:
Lowrie continued his rehab on Thursday, in the lineup for Triple-A Syracuse, playing second and batting second just as he did for Port St. Lucie. In the fifth inning, he sent a homer to left field to give Syracuse a 1-0 lead. He also homered for Syracuse during his first rehab attempt of the season, all the way back on May 10.

Aug. 27, 12:49 a.m.:
After a day off Sunday, Lowrie was back Monday for St. Lucie. Out of the two spot while starting at second base, Lowrie logged half a game, going 0-for-3 at the plate. Lowrie flew out to right field (first inning), grounded out to second base (third inning) and grounded out to first base (fifth inning) before exiting the game.
Aug. 25, 12:50 PM:
Lowrie played four innings at second base last night for St. Lucie, going 1-for-2 from the plate.
He's out of the lineup for Sunday's game, as the Mets are taking it slow during his rehab assignment... he is yet to play consecutive days.
Aug. 24, 6:04 PM:
Lowrie's rehab stint with the St. Lucie Mets continues, but Lowrie will play the field for the first time on Friday. Lowrie is in the team's starting lineup and batting second. He'll play the field at second as well. Lowrie hasn't lined up in a defensive role since May 11.
Lowrie served as St. Lucie's DH in his first four appearances with the team. He's currently batting at a .200 average with St. Lucie.
Aug. 22, 4:21 PM:
Lowrie is back in the St. Lucie lineup on Thursday, serving as the DH and batting second.
The Mets' plan is to determine next steps (including whether Lowrie is ready to play the field) after the game.
Aug. 21, 4:17 PM:
After going 1-for-4 with St. Lucie on Tuesday night, Lowrie has the night off on Wednesday.
Aug. 20, 4:16 PM:
Lowrie is starting a rehab assignment on Tuesday night with High-A St. Lucie, where he will serve as the DH.
"It's still a situation where it's gonna be day-to-day, obviously, but for him to get on the field and get his blood flowing in a big situation for him to this point is exciting," manager Mickey Callaway said. "I think we'll just see how he comes out of it and then make the schedule out the next day."
Aug. 14, 4:14 PM:
Lowrie is advancing as he continues rehabbing the assortment of injuries that have kept him out all season, with Brodie Van Wagenen saying Wednesday that a rehab assignment could be in the cards in the not-too-distant future.
According to Van Wagenen, Lowrie is "running, hitting, and fielding ground balls," and recently started facing live pitching during simulated games.
As far as Lowrie returning this season, Van Wagenen said "it's absolutely our hope and expectation that he can."
The 35-year-old Lowrie, who suffered a "low grade" right calf strain in July while rehabbing, has also dealt with knee and hamstring injuries to his left side this season.
