The Mets leadership group all pointed to the team's poor defensive play as a major reason why they enter the final week of the regular season out of a wild card spot, after two brutal losses to the Nationals. Pete Alonso, Francisco Lindor and Brandon Nimmo all agreed the only thing they can control is their own play and not what the other teams competing against them are doing. For Alonso, possibly playing his last Mets home game at Citi Field, the best solution is to "leave it all out there the last six games."
