Mark Vientos joins Francisco Alvarez on 2022 MLB Futures Game roster

Part of MLB All-Star Weekend, the game will be played on July 16

Mets 3B/LF prospect Mark Vientos has been added to the 2022 MLB Futures Game roster, replacing injured San Francisco Giants prospect David Villar.

Vientos joins Francisco Alvarez, who was announced as member of the team last week.

The Futures Game, which features some of the best prospects in each league, will take place on Saturday, July 16 at Dodger Stadium ahead of Monday's MLB Home Run Derby and Tuesday's MLB All-Star Game. 

Vientos, 22, is hitting .251/.337/.489 with 15 homers and 41 RBI in 63 games this season for Triple-A Syracuse.

The 20-year-old Alvarez, who was recently promoted from Double-A Binghamton to Syracuse, is slashing .268/.363/.532 with 18 home runs, 17 doubles, and 49 RBI in 72 games this season.
