With four days left until the MLB trade deadline, we have our first big transaction made.

The Seattle Mariners sent RHP Taijuan Walker to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for a player to be named later, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.

Earlier this week, MLB.com's Jon Morosi reported the Yankees expressing interest in trading for the right-hander. SNY's Andy Martino also noted that GM Brian Cashman has a strong relationship with Mariners GM Jerry DiPoto, so Walker and lefty Marco Gonzales should be considered potential targets.

Now Cashman will need to look elsewhere, and there aren't many days left. Martino mentioned a potential talk with the Cleveland Indians regarding RHP Mike Clevinger, but as of now, nothing serious has been reported on that front.

In such a unique and bizarre year for the league, it was always speculated that the trade deadline would be quieter because many teams would be considered contenders with the extra postseason spots as well as not knowing what 2021 will hold with the luxury tax and other stipulations.

The Yankees are definitely in need of starting pitching, though, as James Paxton is currently on the IL with left forearm inflammation and J.A. Happ has a pretty high ERA at 6.39. Luis Severino is also out for the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
