Luis Rojas won't be in the dugout for the Mets on Monday or Tuesday night when they face the Reds in Cincinnati, but the skipper believes the team will be just fine without him.

Speaking to the media after the news of his two-game suspension due to "excessive arguing" on Sunday in Pittsburgh came out, Rojas said he feels that the Mets have the right people around the ball club to keep things in order in his absence.

"There's not a key [adjustment] here really because of the personnel we have here," Rojas said. "The group is special. They know how to take things that may be distracting. They've been really good about them -- whether it's the rain, whether it's COVID situations, whether it's an injury, whether it's this, they don't get distracted.

"I mean these guys are a group of mature young men here that are determined to go and win some games...so I don't think anything is getting in the way of that. They have that mindset and whatever is tough that comes their way, I think they turn it into an opportunity for them to keep going or to learn from. That's why I've just got to give it to them. There's no particular key, it's just the group itself."

It's no secret that the Mets have been hit with the most obstacles of any team this season, between early Covid situations from other teams on their schedule and a jarring amount of rain outs that have turned into numerous doubleheaders -- and more to come.

Rojas will be able to return to the Mets dugout for the final game of the series with the Reds on Wednesday.
