Liberty center Jonquel Jones will compete in the WNBA three-point contest the league announced Wednesday.

Jones has knocked down 40 threes on the year, and her 39.6 percent shooting is good enough for ninth-best in the league (fourth-highest among players with at least 100 attempts).

However, Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu, who leads the league with 74 made threes on the season, and Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, tied for third with 71 made threes, will not participate in the contest.

Ionescu, who took on Steph Curry in a contest at February's NBA All-Star Weekend, won the 2023 contest with a record-setting performance.

Jones, making her second appearance in the contest after coming second in 2021, will face off against Washington Mystics center Stefanie Dolson (49 made threes, 48.5 percent), Atlanta Dream guard Allisha Gray (40, 36 percent), Connecticut Sun guard Marina Mabrey (56, 34.8 percent) and Minnesota Lynx guard Kayla McBride (76, 42.7 percent).

The contest will take place on Friday as part of WNBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix.

The All-Star game will feature a team made up of WNBA stars, which includes Jones as well as Clark, taking on a Team USA squad that includes the Liberty’s Breanna Stewart and Ionescu before they head to play in the Summer Olympics in Paris.
