The Giants' search for assistants to fill out Joe Judge's staff is ongoing. Here's the latest on the offensive coordinator job...

Former Cowboys offensive coordinator Scott Linehan will be interviewing with the Giants this weekend, reports Chris Mortensen.

It is not clear if Linehan is interviewing with the Giants for OC or for another position on the staff.

In addition to the Giants, Linehan will also be interviewing with the Panthers and Jaguars, according to Mortensen.

Linehan, 56, was the Cowboys' OC from 2015-18.

Jan.15, 6:36 PM:

Cross one name off the list for the Giants' potential new offensive coordinator.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, former Jaguars OC John DeFilippo is headed to the Chicago Bears as their quarterback coach, joining Bill Lazor, who is being hired as the team's offensive coordinator.

There was never any reported connection between DeFilippo and the Giants, but his previous work with the Eagles and Carson Wentz could have made him an intrguing option for the Giants and Daniel Jones.

Jan. 15, 1:06 PM:

Former Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett is at the Giants' facility interviewing for their offensive coordinator position on Wednesday.

Garrett is a "very strong" candidate for the job, reports SNY's Ralph Vacchiano, who says things could come together quickly if he and Joe Judge click.

Before they finalized a deal to make Joe Judge their next head coach, the Giants requested permission to interview Garrett for the vacant position.

Jan. 14, 6:19 PM:

LSU passing game coordinator Joe Brady was one of the hottest names around the NFL in terms of rising coaching talents, and it now appears as if he is indeed making the jump to the pros.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Brady is heading to the Carolina Panthers to join Matt Rhule's coaching staff as the team's offensive coordinator. Brady, 30, will become the youngest coordinator in the NFL.

After two seasons as an offensive assistant with the Saints, Brady joined the LSU staff and helped lead a historically great Tigers offense en route to a National Championship, with quarterback Joe Burrow setting the NCAA single-season touchdown record (60) while winning the Heisman Trophy.

Jan. 14, 9:19 AM:

The Giants spoke with incumbent Mike Shula on Monday for their offensive coordinator job, reports Jordan Raanan of ESPN.

According to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano, new head coach Joe Judge has met/will meet with all of Pat Shurmur's assistants to give them an opportunity to state their case.

Jan. 13, 11:25 AM:

As the Giants continue their search for a new offensive coordinator, the Jaguars have fired OC John DeFilippo, adding another potential candidate to the pool Big Blue was already considering.

SNY's Ralph Vacchiano has not yet heard anything connecting DeFilippo to the Giants' vacant OC job, but added that it doesn't necessarily mean he's not of interest.

DeFilippo, 41, spent only one season with the Jaguars as their OC, where he helped develop rookie QB Gardner Minshew but ran an offense that was near the bottom of the league (20th) in total yards per game in 2019.

Jan. 9, 1:21 PM:

SNY's Ralph Vacchiano reports that Freddie Kitchens' name has come up in some circles, and ESPN's Jordan Raanan followed that up saying the Giants do expect to speak with Kitchens about a spot on their staff.

Kitchens lasted just one year as the Browns' head coach.

There are other options for Judge to consider as his OC, including recently-fired Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, Redskins interim head coach and offensive line guru Bill Callahan, and a colleague in Patriots wide receivers coach Chad O'Shea.
