Kristaps Porzingis will not play in Wednesday's game against his former Knicks squad, as he is still in health and safety protocols.

Porzingis has played in two games at Madison Square Garden since the Knicks traded him to the Dallas Mavericks. In those games, he has scored 20 and 14 points and is averaging 9.5 rebounds per game. He has only knocked two of 12 three-pointers in his homecoming games. He hit 36.1 percent of his threes as a Knick.

The Knicks moved on from Phil Jackson's unicorn on Feb. 1, 2019 after tensions between Porzingis and the organization boiled rather over quickly. Tim Hardaway Jr., Trey Burke, and Courtney Lee went to Dallas, along with Porzingis, in exchange for two first-round picks, DeAndre Jordan, Dennis Smith Jr., and Wesley Matthews.

Since being traded, Porzingis is averaging 20.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, shooting at a 44.8 percent clip (34.7 percent from long range), but has played in just 126 of a possible 187 games, as his injury woes followed him to Dallas.
