The Knicks (2-9) faced the Bulls (4-7) for a second time in the early season, but weren't able to get the win this time around, as Chicago pulled away in the fourth quarter to take a 120-102 victory>> Box Score
Here are Five Takeaway's from Tuesday's game...
1) Just as they did in their first matchup with the Bulls, the Knicks came back from a double-digit first half deficit to make things interesting by the end of the third with things tied at 85 heading into the fourth quarter. But rookie PG Coby White just exploded in the fourth quarter, hitting seven 3-pointers to break the Bulls back out to a double-digit lead, as the Knicks just had no answer for them in the last 12 minutes of play. White set a Bulls franchise record for 3-pointers in a quarter with seven and scored a career-high 27 points.
2) The Knicks starting lineup truly spread the love tonight, with RJ Barrett, Taj Gibson, Julius Randle and Marcus Morris Sr. all scoring more than 15 points on the day. Morris led the way for the Knicks with 22 points and nine rebounds, while Barrett scored 21 points and had a career-high nine assists in the loss. No Knick made it to double figures in rebounds or assists and also only had one block all game--clearly feeling Mitchell Robinson's presence in this one.
3) The Knicks continued to struggle taking care of the ball Tuesday night, turning the ball over 18 times and allowing 24 points off those turnovers. Luckily for them, the Bulls were also turning the ball over at a high rate, finishing the game with 20 turnovers that lead to 26 points for the Knicks.
4) Dennis Smith Jr. made his long awaited return to the court against the Bulls, but it wasn't the return he'd have hoped for, as the point guard's early season struggles continued Tuesday. Smith Jr. still remained passive in his limited minutes, only shooting the ball three times and missing all three shots. The third year player had zero points, two assists, two steals and three turnovers in 14 minutes of action.
5) The Knicks continue to sit at the bottom of the league in field goal and free throw percentage, as they shoot a rough 41.7 percent from the field and 65.1 percent from the foul line. New York shot 40.9 percent from the field and 64.5 percent from the line Tuesday, on par with their production this season.
