Five things to know from Friday's game

1) As has been the case of late, the Knicks started Friday's game strong. The team finished the first quarter with a 28-20 lead, shooting 46.2 percent from the floor. After leading by as many as 13 points in the second quarter, the Knicks let their lead slip away and ended up trailing by three points at halftime.

The Knicks came out of halftime sluggish, and Toronto pushed out to a 67-55 lead just a few minutes into the third. The Knicks stayed close though, and the Raptors entered the final period with an 85-79 lead. The Raptors pushed their lead back up to 12, but again the Knicks fought back to cut the lead back to six wth six and a half minutes to go. The Knicks then cut the lead to two, as Bobby Portis converted on an and-one with four and a half to go. After New York fought all the way back to tie the game, Toronto's OG Anunoby immediately knocked down a three to retake the lead, and the Raptors never looked back. 

 

2) Damyean Dotson gave the Knicks a huge spark off the bench. Dotson knocked down a few huge shots, finishing with 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting. It was the second consecutive strong game for Dotson, who scored 17 points on 6-of-14 shooting on Wednesday against the Lakers.

3) Reggie Bullock, once again starting at shooting guard in place of the injured RJ Barrett, gave the Knicks a solid contribution, particularly in the first half. Bullock had eight points in the first quarter alone, and finished with 11 points, including three made threes.

4) Julius Randle gave the Knicks his typical strong effort. Randle recorded a double-double, notching 20 points and 11 rebounds. Marcus Morris also had 21 points for the Knicks, but was just 3-for-8 from beyond the arc.

5) Pascal Siakam and Kyle Lowry led the way for the Raptors. Siakam had 23 points and seven rebounds, including a clutch three-pointer in the final minute, while Lowry led the team with 26 points.

The Knicks face off with their cross-town rivals, the Brooklyn Nets, on Sunday. Tip-off from Madison Square Garden is set for 6:00 PM.
