The Knicks and Taj Gibson have renewed their interest for the third time this season.

Gibson has signed a second 10-day contract, the team announced Saturday.

The 38-year-old originally re-joined the club in mid-December after Mitchell Robinson’s injury to provide depth behind Isaiah Hartenstein and Jericho Sims. That stretch lasted 10 games before he was released by New York in January before his contract was set to be guaranteed.

When Julius Randle went down with a shoulder injury, New York brought back Gibson for his initial 10-day deal so they could get an extra body in ahead of the Feb. 8 NBA trade deadline.

His presence came in handy when the Knicks were extremely shorthanded for Thursday night’s game against the Dallas Mavericks after injuries and a five-person trade had New York dressing just eight players.

Gibson played 22 minutes off the bench and the game saw Hartenstein aggravate a lingering Achilles injury that will keep him out of Saturday’s game against the Indiana Pacers.

The veteran has appeared in 13 games for New York in his second stint with the franchise, averaging 10.2 minutes. He is 7-for-18 from the field for 16 points with 23 rebounds, seven assists and six blocks.
