The Knicks’ first-round matchup is officially set.

With the Pacers’ loss to the Magic and the Bucks beating the Pistons, New York has locked up the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference and they’ll take on Detroit in the opening round.

This is their fourth-ever postseason meeting -- the most recent one was the first round of the 1992 Playoffs.

The Knicks struggled against the young and hungry Pistons this year, going 3-1 in the season series.

New York won their first matchup back in November, 128-98, on the road -- however, the Pistons took back-to-back games at Madison Square Garden led by superstar point guard Cade Cunningham following that loss.

And then in their final meeting on Thursday night, Detroit came from behind as some poor second-half shooting and sloppy turnovers from the Knicks helped them overcome a double digit third quarter advantage.

"We know they're good, we're going to have to be prepared," Tom Thibodeau said.
