When Mitchell Robinson returned from a fractured foot in the preseason, Knicks fans knew it would take a little while for his stamina to get back to where it was before his March injury.

But Robinson admitted his stamina is still an issue a quarter-way through the season.

"Sitting out eight months and just jumping straight into the fry, it takes time..." Robinson told reporters at Tuesday's shootaround in San Antonio. "I wish I could just jump right back into it and be who I was before the injuries and stuff happened. Basically, just gonna work and get back to myself."

Robinson said he lifts after every game and goes on the bike for an extra 15 to 20 minutes. But he can't go "six, seven minutes" without being "gassed."

"I just get tired real quick. I run for about six, seven minutes, and boom, I'm gassed," he said. "So it's something I need to work on real bad."

Robinson bulked up noticeably this season, but has gotten his weight down to 265 - he entered training camp at 280.

"I'm starting to get my legs back underneath me," he said.

Robinson is averaging 22.7 minutes per game in his last 12 contests - in his first eight games of the season, he was on the floor for 29.5 minutes a game.
