It was a weekend to remember for Knicks star Julius Randle. He welcomed his second son, Jayce, on Friday with his wife, Kendra, and now eldest son, Kyden.

The Randles are now a family of four, and what is the best thing to do when that happens? Watch some Knicks basketball from home for once.

"It was amazing, man," Randle told reporters on Monday as he returned to practice. "Obviously, you always wish you could be out there. Just to be able to watch the guys, see how our team is developing from afar. Every day we’re taking steps forward to get better and it’s fun. It’s also fun when you’re watching from home, you hear the commentary, you hear Thibs’ voice. So I heard a lot of Thibs screaming, up 20. That was good to hear from afar, too. I enjoyed it."

Randle admitted that Kyden was a little bit confused, saying "Dad, why are you here?" But big brother loves having that new title.

"He’s obsessed being big brother. He loves it," Randle said of Kyden. "Very protective and really just loves being big brother."

When Kyden was born, Randle was still playing with the Los Angeles Lakers and he was in Miami when he had to fly back across the country to make sure he was there. This time it was much easier on the east coast.

But a new baby in the house is always something to adjust to, even when you’ve done it already in the past. Parents, you know what I’m talking about.

Head coach Tom Thibodeau agrees.

"He could probably use a day off," he said grinning. "He was upbeat, obviously. It’s good to have him back."

Randle will need some adjusting, but he loves the fact that there will now be three of his loved ones watching him on game days.

"Amazing just to be able to grow my family, to bring our son into the world," Randle said. "For Kyden to become a big brother and all that. So it’s been a really, really positive past couple days for sure."
