The NBA announced the 2020-21 All-NBA teams on Tuesday night, and a couple of New York players were among the rosters, as Knicks forward Julius Randle was named to the Second Team and Nets guard Kyrie Irving made the Third Team.

Randle, the NBA’s Most Improved Player this season, had a huge season in his first year in Tom Thibodeau’s system, averaging 24.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 6.0 assists while shooting 41.1 percent from beyond the arc.

Randle became just the sixth player in NBA history to average at least 24.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists in a season, joining Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlain, Nikola Jokić (who also did it this season), Oscar Robertson, and Russell Westbrook.

Meanwhile, Irving has made the Third Team for the second time in his career (2014-15). He also made the All-NBA Second Team in 2018-19.

Like his fellow Nets super stars in Kevin Durant and James Harden, Irving missed some significant time this season, but he ended up playing in 54 games, averaging 27.7 points, 6.2 assists and 4.9 assists.

Irving and the Nets are still alive in the playoffs, with their Eastern Conference Semifinals matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks tied at 2-2 heading into a pivotal Game 5 Tuesday night.
