With the NBA trade deadline in the past, the Cleveland Cavaliers and All-Star C Andre Drummond are working on a buyout, per Yahoo! Sports Chris Haynes

Per SNY's Ian Begley, there is one prominent voice within the Knicks organization who sees Drummond as a fit for the team. But a "majority of the organization" doesn't feel the same way, sources told him.

However, the Knicks can do what teams like the Nets and Los Angeles Lakers -- two teams reportedly interested in Drummond's services -- can't. If they wish, the Knicks can offer Drummond a multi-year deal because of their cap situation. The Athletic's John Hollinger reported the Knicks could offer a four-year deal worth $64 million (those numbers are before the three-way trade New York made with Philadelphia and Oklahoma City).

As for the Nets, they're looking for more help in their superteam building to be well fortified for the playoffs. That is why they've been keeping a close eye on Drummond, who is averaging a double-double (17.5 points and 13.5 rebounds) a game this season with the Cavs.

JaVale McGee was another Cavalier whom they were looking at as an alternative if Drummond were traded. But McGee was actually the one dealt away, as he heads to the Denver Nuggets.

While the Knicks like what they have with Mitchell Robinson returning to the court along with Nerlens Noel, Brooklyn hasn't filled the void of Jarrett Allen yet after he was sent away in the James Harden deal. Nic Claxton still needs some time to develop, and with championship aspirations, landing Drummond may be a game-changer alongside DeAndre Jordan.

At the end of the day, it's all up to Drummond. If he wants to vie for a ring, Brooklyn or LA would be the move.

But, if the Knicks do end up offering him a multi-year deal, he may want to choose long-term stability on a team that continues to grow by the game and could also be in the playoffs come May.
