Jets guard Kelechi Osemele did not practice with the team again on Friday, and was not present at the team's facility in Florham Park.
Osemele's absence is considered "unexcused" by the team, and he has been fined regularly by the Jets since last week for "conduct detrimental to the team" for not practicing with his teammates.
Acquired via a trade with the Oakland Raiders in March, Osemele has played in three games for the Jets this season.
The 30-year-old revealed on Wednesday that he planned to have surgery Friday to repair a torn labrum, an injury that he claims to have originated in training camp, which he then re-aggravated in Week 3 against the Patriots.
Osemele's agent confirmed to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano that the two-time Pro-Bowler is scheduled to have surgery on Friday, with the procedure taking place in Boston by Dr. Glen Ross.
Jets head coach Adam Gase was asked about the Osemele situation at his Friday press conference, but declined to comment.
"Once we get through this game then I'll deal with that," Gase said.
The Jets will head to Jacksonville on Saturday for Sunday's 1 PM matchup with the Jaguars.
