Joe Panik makes his Mets debut starting a second base and batting in the eight spot, he's batting .235 this year with a .627 OPS and three home runs. ... Brad Brach will be in the bullpen for the Mets after the team also signed him this week. The former All-Star has a career 3.32 ERA with 33 saves in nine season with the Padres, Orioles, Braves and Cubs. This season his ERA is 6.13. ... Michael Conforto is batting .315 with 20 RBI and nine home runs in 24 games since the All-Star break. Conforto has seven home runs in his past 11 games, he's the first Met to do that since Wilmer Flores in July 2016.

Who is starting for the Mets?
RHP Marcus Stroman makes his second start with the Mets, 23rd overall of the season, and his first one as a Met at Citi Field. His first start with the team was on Aug. 3. Stroman threw 4.1 inning, allowing three runs on seven hits with two walks and three strikeouts at Pittsburgh against the Pirates.
Who is starting for the Nationals?
RHP Stephen Strasburg (14-5, 3.72 ERA) is fresh off his worst start of the year heading into Citi Field. He allowed nine runs in 4.2 innings pitched against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday. He's started three games against the Mets this season and has collected a 2.75 ERA against New York.
