The Jets held a practice at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, with opening night against the Buffalo Bills just two weeks away.

Head coach Adam Gase said he was very happy with how the practice went, and said the intensity was ramped up.

"I thought today was better than the last time. We kinda had a scrimmage atmosphere. Not sure if it was the fact we were in the stadium, just kind of that feel, but we got a lot of good work today," said Gase.

"Energy was really good. Guys were ready to go. It just felt better out there," said quarterback Sam Darnold. "That first scrimmage, that first time kind of trying to get drives together, whether it's OTAs or training camp, it's usually always kind of a struggle at first, but I feel like the second go around was good."

Gase mentioned that the scrimmage-type practice tried to mimic as much of a game feel as possible.

"Going through TV timeouts, crowd noise, kind of hearing what that might be like, the halftime, that was good," said Gase. "We were trying to treat this more of, kind of ramp it up deal.... We were just trying to make sure that guys got in a good flow, try to make it feel like a game somewhat. I know it's hard to make anything feel like what it's gonna feel like when we go Week 1, but just trying to get that, hey, we might go seven, eight, nine plays. Just kind of getting that rhythm."

Gase was impressed with the crowd noise piped into the stadium.

"I don't know how it's gonna be at every stadium with the crowd noise, but it's not super quiet. We were just checking out where the decibels were on some of that stuff. It's decently loud," he said, joking that he couldn't hear defensive coordinator Gregg Williams.

"It was cool. It was definitely more energy than when we didn't have any noise at practice and it was just a scrimmage. So that was nice to be able to have some type of noise and some music going there. It was good," added Darnold.

The quarterback also added that he missed the fan interaction.

"Obviously you miss the fans. The fan interaction, that's what most of us all love about this game, is to be able to entertain people and just to be able to — even after games, spending time with the fans and before games, so that's a part that we're all gonna miss, but we're definitely just gonna have to adapt," he said. "But it was good with the fan noise and the music today."

Rookie running back La'Mical Perine left practice with ankle injury, but had not underwent an X-Ray yet.

"Just trying to figure out if there as any damage done or if it's just a sprain," said Gase.

"To be able to practice, we gotta have better numbers," Gase added, in terms of players available. "Right now, we're at six at the wideout spot. Hopefully we get some of those guys back this week, and then running back, we're thinning out pretty quick."
