Gang Green also officially moved LB C.J. Mosley to the Reserve/Opt-Out list

The Jets made a slew of moves to trim their roster on Monday, including the release of wide receiver Quincy Enunwa. They also moved linebacker C.J. Mosley, who informed the team of his decision to opt out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns, to the Reserve/Opt-Out list.

The team also waived three players: running back Trenton Cannon, offensive lineman Ben Braden and linebacker Wyatt Ray.

The oft-injured Enunwa had already been ruled out of the 2020 season with a neck injury, one which kept him out of all but one game last season as well. Since being drafted in the sixth round in 2014, Enunwa appeared in all 16 games just once. His 2016 season saw him catch 58 passes for 857 yards and four touchdowns, but his health prevented him from replicating that success.

Mosley signed with the Jets prior to the 2019 season, but a groin injury saw him play in just two games with Gang Green. The Alabama product spent five seasons with the Ravens before joining the Jets.

Cannon was a sixth-round draft pick for the Jets in 2018 and had his most productive year with the team in his rookie season. He appeared in all 16 games, ran for 113 yards while adding 144 receiving yards as well. He played in just four games last season, mostly on special teams.

Braden, meanwhile, signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2017 and appeared in three games over the last three seasons.

Ray signed with the Jets’ practice squad last November, but has yet to appear in an NFL game after going undrafted in 2019.
