Jets head coach Adam Gase revealed that QB Sam Darnold is ruled out for Week 6 against the Miami Dolphins, making it his second straight week on the sidelines.

Darnold still isn't feeling healthy enough after suffering an AC joint sprain on Thursday Night Football two weeks ago.

Joe Flacco will once again get the start under center after playing in that role against the Arizona Cardinals this past Sunday.

The Jets did say that Darnold's status would be week-to-week, and that the healing process would just have to run its course. AC joint sprains make it hard to lift the arm up for a throwing motion, and that's what Darnold is battling at the moment.

Flacco didn't wow anyone in his first start as a Jet, throwing for only 195 yards on 18-for-33 through the air with a touchdown to Jamison Crowder. Crowder was his favorite target, as he racked up another week with over 100 yards receiving, but he was having trouble finding chemistry elsewhere in the receiving game.

The Jets will also not feature Le'Veon Bell, who was released. So Flacco will have to work with veteran RB Frank Gore and rookie La'Mical Perine on offense.

Other than Darnold, Mekhi Becton remains questionable for this week after missing the game against the Cardinals. He has been dealing with a shoulder injury.

"We'll just kinda see how the week goes if there's an opportunity there," Gase said. "He's going through his rehab, we're just kinda taking this one day at a time. See if something changes."

However, on the brighter side of things, Denzel Mims has been "harassing" Gase to get back on the practice field and it looks like that's exactly what will happen Wednesday. However, the Jets will remain cautious, as Gase wouldn't comment on him being ready for Sunday.

Finally, Breshad Perriman appears to be on track to return Sunday, with Gase saying he is limited Wednesday with the expectation to ramp him up at the end of the week.
