Jets offensive lineman Xavier Newman was stretchered off after suffering a neck injury during Sunday night’s loss to the Steelers -- but after the game, New York received good news.

Newman remained down for several minutes after collapsing and landing awkwardly following a hard hit from Pittsburgh linebacker Patrick Queen during an interception return in the third quarter.

NBC's Melissa Stark reported on the game broadcast that he was conscious and had movements in his limbs as he was carted off the field and was taken to a local hospital in Pittsburgh.

Jets interim coach Jeff Ulbrich told reporters afterward that Newman's testing "came back negative" and "he's traveling back with the team."

"Huge relief," Ulbrich said.

Additionally on the injury front, offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker (ankle) and safety Tony Adams (hamstring) were ruled doubtful to return midway through the contest.

Safety Ashtyn Davis entered concussion protocol, Ulbrich added.
