Haason Reddick’s Jets holdout has come to an end.

Just a day after reaching an agreement with the club on an adjusted contract, the two-time Pro Bowler officially showed up to the team’s facility to complete his medical and begin preparing for this week’s game.

“I had a brief meeting with him this morning,” interim HC Jeff Ulbrich said. “He’s fired up and ready to get rolling with us. He has a few things from a physical standpoint he has to get assessed, but then he’s going to be fully integrated into everything we do.”

While it was encouraging for the team to finally see him around 1 Jets Drive after his six-month holdout in hopes of landing a new deal, it remains to be seen what type of playing shape he’ll be in when he finally hits the field.

That’s why Ulbrich says it’s still too early to tell if he’ll be available in any capacity for Sunday’s contest with the Patriots.

“We’ve got to see what he looks like first,” he said. “He’s in great spirits, he says he’s in great shape. Obviously he’s got to get out here and spend some time with us first before we can make that decision.”

Either way, adding Reddick to the mix sometime over the next couple of weeks will certainly be a nice boost for this defense that is missing Jermaine Johnson's presence on the edge.

After getting off to a bit of a slow start to his career, the 29-year-old quickly established himself as one of the premier edge-rushers in the league, recording double-digit sacks and tackles for loss in each of the past four seasons.

While Reddick may be a bit limited at first, the more he gets comfortable in this defensive scheme, the more Ulbrich thinks he’ll become a weapon for them.

“We’re excited about adding him to our fold,” he said. “As he starts to learn our defense and gets integrates into what we do he’s probably going to be more of a pass rusher, but in time he’s a guy who absolutely has the ability to play every down and help us in every way.”

Though there may be some outside concern that his new teammates -- who are currently riding a four-game losing streak -- will have a hard time welcoming him in after his hiatus to begin his Jets tenure, Ulbrich is confident that won’t be the case.

“This locker room is going to embrace him with open arms,” he said. “They know what he provides to us from a football standpoint and in time they’re going to get to know the human being who’s as high a character person as there is in this league.”
