Jets 2022 Injury Tracker: Breece Hall looks 'fantastic' in recovery from ACL injury

The latest news and possible return dates

4/10/2023, 3:38 AM

Here is the latest news and possible return dates for Jets players...

April 9, 11:00 p.m.

Breece Hall appears to be progressing well as he works his way back from a torn ACL he suffered last season.

Head coach Robert Saleh told ESPN’s Rich Cimini earlier this week that the star running back “looks fantastic” in his rehab.

The Jets will take things slow with him in training camp, but they expect Hall to be ready for Week 1 of the regular season.

Hall was a huge piece for the Jets' offense during his rookie season.

The Iowa State product had begun breaking out in the weeks prior to his injury. Hall had scored a touchdown in four consecutive weeks and was coming off a 20 carry, 116-yard performance in a win over the Green Bay Packers. He finished the year with 80 carries for 463 yards (5.8 yards per attempt) and four touchdowns.

Getting him back healthy would provide the Jets with another weapon in this revamped offense.

Jan. 9, 2:10 p.m.

As Jets players cleaned out their lockers on Monday, many met with reporters one final time for the season, producing some interesting injury news heading into the offseason.

Running back Breece Hall, who was off to a fantastic start before a torn ACL ended his season in late October, told reporters that he’s recovering at a faster rate than normal and expects to be ready for training camp this summer.

Offensive tackle Mekhi Becton, meanwhile, said that he’s "really close" to being able to get back to football activities and is "feeling good" as he enters the offseason. Becton suffered an avulsion fracture in his right knee cap in August, causing him to miss the entire season.

Elsewhere on the O-line, Alijah Vera-Tucker said he expects to be ready for the start of next season after an October triceps injury ended his promising second year.

On the other side of the ball, edge rusher Carl Lawson told SNY NFL Insider Connor Hughes that he ended up having a second surgery on his Achilles this time last year. And while he was expected to miss part of the season as he recovered, Lawson fought back to play in all 17 games.

Jan. 8, 3:49 p.m.

Sauce Gardner, likely to be named Defensive Rookie of the Year, exited Sunday’s game against Miami in the fourth quarter.

While making a tackle in the fourth, Gardner appeared to have his left leg/ankle roll up underneath him. He was checked out by the training staff and initially stayed in the game.

After being sidelined for a series, Gardner checked back in late in the fourth.

Jan. 8, 1:37 p.m.

On a third-down play during Sunday's first quarter against Miami, CJ Mosley made a tackle on Jaylen Waddle and stayed down on the field. Mosley was able to walk off on his own and headed to the blue medical tent with the Jets training staff.

Mosley, who dealt with a stinger last week, returned to the field a couple of drives later.

Jan. 6, 6:17 p.m.

The Jets will be without three offensive linemen on Sunday when they take on the Miami Dolphins in their final regular season game, as the team announced Duane Brown (shoulder), George Fant (knee), and Nate Herbig (calf) will all be sidelined.

Additionally, CB Brandin Echols (quadriceps) and safety Lamarcus Joyner (hip) will be be out as well.

The Jets also listed C.J. Uzomah (ankle), Ashtyn Davis (ankle), Jordan Whitehead (hamstring) and Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (knee) as questionable for the Week 18 game. LDT, Davis and Whitehead were limited in practice Friday, while Uzomah did not participate.

Jan. 5, 5:25 p.m.

After fully participating in Wednesday’s walkthrough, Jets quarterback Mike White was downgraded to limited at Thursday’s practice.

White, who missed two games with a rib injury, also skipped his scheduled session with the media on Thursday.

Earlier in the week, head coach Robert Saleh told reporters that White had been dealing with some rib soreness following the Week 17 matchup with the Seahawks.

However, he did indicate the quarterback should be ready for Sunday's season finale against the Dolphins.

White struggled in his first game back since Dec. 11. He went just 23-for-46 for 240 yards and turned the ball over three times in the 23-6 loss to Seattle.

Saleh named veteran Joe Flacco the Jets' backup quarterback ahead of the struggling Zach Wilson earlier this week. It is unknown who would start if White is unable to suit up.

Jan. 2, 6:22 p.m.

Head coach Robert Saleh announced on Monday that Lamarcus Joyner (hip) is done for the rest of the season.

Joyner left the game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in the first half and did not return.

Jan. 1, 5:49 p.m.

Jets safety Lamarcus Joyner was downgraded, from doubtful to return, to out after exiting the first half of Week 17's game at the Seattle Seahawks with a hip injury.

Joyner totaled two tackles before leaving Sunday's action.

The 5-foot-8, 185-pounder previously dealt with a hip injury and had most recently appeared in Week 14's 20-12 loss at the Buffalo Bills Dec. 11.

He entered the Jets' game at the Seahawks with three interceptions over his 13 games of action this season.

Dec. 31, 4:40 p.m.

Prior to their Week 17 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks, the Jet elevated QB Chris Streveler from the practice squad and activated OT Cedric Ogbuehi off IR on Saturday.

Ogbuehi started four games (Weeks 8 though 12) at right tackle, but has missed the past four games due to a groin injury.

New York also placed WR Jeff Smith (knee) on the IR after ruling him out for Sunday's game. Smith finishes the season with eight receptions for 134 yards over 11 games.

Dec. 30, 11:50 a.m.

Jets wide receiver Denzel Mims (concussion) and safety Lamarcus Joyner (hip) will return for the team's Week 17 game at the Seattle Seahawks, head coach Robert Saleh told reporters.

Wide receiver Jeff Smith (knee) and cornerback Brandin Echols (quad) will be out for Sunday's 4:05 p.m. kickoff.

"Injuries -- Jeff is dealing with his knee still," Saleh said. "Jeff Smith, he's not going to practice. Neither is Echols -- he's still dealing with his quad.

"Everyone else is either on the limited or full-time basis, full participant -- that's (offensive tackles) George (Fant) and Duane (Brown), (they) are on their normal routine.

"Lamarcus Joyner, we'll get back in practice and Denzel Mims is on the final stage of the concussion protocol."

Mims was a full participant in Thursday's practice while Joyner remained limited. Brown and Fant were also limited, while Smith and Echols did not practice.

Mims, who last played Dec. 18 in a 20-17 loss to the Detroit Lions, has caught 11 passes for 186 yards (16.9 average) through eight games this season.

Joyner most recently appeared in Week 14's 20-12 loss at the Buffalo Bills Dec. 11 and has made three interceptions over 13 games this year.

Dec. 29, 8:00 p.m.

Jets wide receiver Denzel Mims officially cleared concussion protocol and returned to practice fully on Thursday afternoon.

Head coach Robert Saleh said Mims was in the final stage of the concussion protocol prior to Wednesday’s practice. He appears to be good to go for this weekend’s contest against the Seattle Seahawks.

Mims last played on Dec. 18 against the Detroit Lions.

Safety Lamarcus Joyer practiced in limited fashion again on Thursday, though the Jets are "hopeful" he’ll be able to return from his hip injury this week. Duane Brown and George Fant were also limited.

Meanwhile, Jeff Smith (knee) and Brandin Echols (quad) remained out.

Dec. 28, 10:55 a.m.

Wide receiver Denzel Mims is in the final stage of the concussion protocol, Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday before practice.

Mims missed the Thursday night matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 16, as he last played against the Detroit Lions on Dec. 18. He's made just 11 receptions for 186 yards over eight games this season.

OT Cedric Ogbuehi (groin) will return to practice after being on injured reserve and missing the last four games. Ogbuehi started four games (Weeks 8 though 12) at right tackle in place of Alijah Vera-Tucker, who tore his triceps against the Denver Broncos in Week 7 and is out for the remainder of the season.

Saleh added that Jeff Smith (knee) and Brandin Echols (quad) will not practice on Wednesday after both players were out against the Jaguars. Meanwhile, safety Lamarcus Joyner (hip) will practice as the team is "hopeful" he can return for Sunday's matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.

Dec. 26, 3:35 p.m.

Head coach Robert Saleh said Monday that the team is "hopeful" they will get veteran safety Lamarcus Joyner back from his hip injury on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

"We're hopeful for Joyner," Saleh said.

The 32-year-old has missed the past two games and last played on Dec. 11 against the Buffalo Bills. Over 13 games this season, Joyner had made 55 total tackles, three interceptions and one fumble recovery.

Additionally, Saleh said that QB Zach Wilson will be inactive for Sunday's contest, as Joe Flacco will serve as the backup to Mike White.

Dec. 26, 12:57 p.m.

QB Mike White has been cleared for contact by doctors on Monday and is expected to start on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, SNY's Connor Hughes confirmed.

White suffered an injury to his ribs against the Buffalo Bills on Dec. 11 and has not played since. Over three games of action this season, White has gone 1-2 as the starter and has completed 62 percent of his passes for 952 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions.

QB Zach Wilson, who was benched for White after a 10-3 loss to the New England Patriots on Nov. 20, started the last two weeks against the Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars. He struggled in both games and was replaced by backup Chris Streveler against the Jaguars on Dec. 22 towards the end of the third quarter.

Dec. 22, 3:50 p.m.

Both Quinnen Williams (calf) and Zonovan Knight (ankle) are officially listed as questionable to play vs. the Jaguars, but it sounds like they will indeed be able to give it a go.

SNY NFL Insider Connor Hughes reports that both Williams and Knight will play, giving the Jets a boost on both sides of the ball.

Williams, a Pro Bowler, has a career-high 11.0 sacks so far this season.

Dec. 20, 11:28 a.m.

Head coach Robert Saleh made it official on Tuesday morning: Zach Wilson will start on Thursday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

According to Saleh, Mike White, who suffered an injury to his ribs a couple games ago against the Buffalo Bills, still has not been cleared for contact.

Wilson will now get the call to face off against Trevor Lawrence, as the top two picks of the 2021 NFL Draft will go head-to-head.

Dec. 19, 12:49 p.m.

Ahead of Thursday's matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars at MetLife Stadium, QB Mike White's status remains up in the air, head coach Robert Saleh said on Monday.

White (ribs) was initially hopeful about being able to play during the Jets' Week 15 matchup against the Detroit Lions, but was not cleared for contact, leading to Zach Wilson being reinserted as the starter during a loss that dropped New York to 7-7.

According to Saleh, White is still being evaluated.

Meanwhile, Saleh is "very hopeful" that Corey Davis (concussion) will be able to play on Thursday, and was also hopeful Quinnen Williams (calf) would be able to return against the Jags.

Denzel Mims (concussion) is expected to be out.

Dec. 18, 2:15 p.m.

Jets wide receiver Denzel Mims has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions due to a concussion.

Late in the first quarter, Mims remained down after making a nice grab for 13 yards and a first down. After a few moments, he walked off the field with trainers and made his way into the medical tent.

Shortly after, the team announced Mims was being evaluated for a concussion. He was officially downgraded to out with two minutes remaining in the second quarter.

The Jets are already without wide receiver Corey Davis, who was ruled out for Sunday’s game due to a concussion he suffered last week against the Buffalo Bills.

Dec. 18, 11:09 a.m.

The Jets will be without two key defenders for Sunday's matchup against Detroit.

Defensive lineman Quinnen Williams had previously been ruled questionable with a calf injury, and safety Lamarcus Joyner was a late addition to the injury report this week, added on a Saturday with a hip injury after practicing all week.

Now, the Jets will be without both against a tough Lions passing attack, as SNY NFL Insider Connor Hughes reports that Williams and Joyner are indeed out for the game.

Williams has already set a new career high with 11.0 sacks this season, establishing himself as one of the top interior D-linemen in the league.

Joyner has started all 13 games this season for Gang Green, intercepting three passes while adding a fumble recovery.

Dec. 17, 12:55 p.m.

The Jets announced their final injury report on Saturday before their matchup with the Detroit Lions on Sunday and three players are out.

QB Mike White, WR Corey Davis and CB Brandin Echols will not play while DT Quinnen Williams and DS Lamarcus Joyner are questionable.

In place of White, Zach Wilson will get the starting nod at quarterback for his first start in three games.

Dec. 16, 11:00 a.m.

In addition to quarterback Mike White (ribs), head coach Robert Saleh announced the Jets will be without cornerback Brandin Echols (quad) and wide receiver Corey Davis (concussion) on Sunday when they face the Detroit Lions.

Defensive tackle Quinnen Williams (calf) will miss practice on Friday – the third-straight day he will not participate – but the head coach said there is still hope and a 50-50 chance he will feature.

“D-linemen don’t need to practice to be ready for game day,” Saleh said. “So, we’re still hopeful. 50-50.”

Dec. 15, 2:45 p.m.

Mike White (rib) told reporters after Thursday's practice that there's "no doubt" he'll be starting Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

White was limited in practice on Wednesday and was expected to play, but it looks like the 28-year-old will be ready to start after leaving the Jets' Week 14 matchup against the Bills twice after some devastating hits.

Zach Wilson was elevated to backup quarterback this week and will start in case White cannot go.

Dec. 14, 11:09 a.m.

Mike White (rib) will be limited in practice on Wednesday, but is expected to be able to play against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, head coach Robert Saleh told reporters.

However, with White compromised, the Jets are elevating Zach Wilson to be the backup after he was inactive since getting benched.

Meanwhile, Quinnen Williams (calf) remained out of practice on Wednesday.

Dec. 12, 1:42 p.m.

Quarterback Mike White and defensive lineman Quinnen Williams, perhaps the Jets’ two most important players right now, both went down with injuries on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, but it sounds like the Jets have dodged bullets on both.

Head coach Robert Saleh said Monday that White (ribs) and Williams (calf) are day-to-day following Sunday’s loss.

Saleh said that the team is preparing as if White will be ready to go in Week 15 against the Detroit Lions, while Williams is “50-50” as of now -- but the team will know more on his status on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, wide receiver Corey Davis is in the concussion protocol, but was “feeling really good” on Monday.

Dec. 11, 4:25 p.m.

Mike White was slow to get up a couple of times during Sunday's loss to the Bills, and while he finished the game, the team did send him to a Buffalo-area hospital afterwards for further evaluation.

"It’s more precaution than anything," head coach Robert Saleh said afterwards.

"He was brought in to be evaluated. X-Rays, all that stuff, everything checked out good. He felt good and wanted to come back in."

White went 27-of-44 for 268 yards in the 20-12 loss. Joe Flacco came in to replace White twice during the game.

Dec. 11, 3:17 p.m.

After walking off the field to, presumably, get X-rays on his ribs, quarterback Mike White was considered questionable to return, per SNY’s Connor Hughes.

Shortly after, Hughes reported that White was warming up on the sideline and that it appeared he would try and play through the pain after the Jets’ defense made a stop on third and three.

After the Bills converted their field goal attempt, White re-entered the game.

White briefly left the field earlier in the game, as well, but returned after Joe Flacco played just two snaps. With Zach Wilson inactive, Flacco is the only other quarterback on the current roster for New York.

Dec. 11, 2:46 p.m.

After initially being considered questionable to return, defensive tackle Quinnen Williams was downgraded to out after halftime of the Jets game against the Bills with a calf injury.

Williams left the game in the second quarter.

Dec. 11, 1:46 p.m.

Wide receiver Corey Davis was forced to leave the Jets' game against the Buffalo Bills with a head injury and will not return.

He suffered the injury on his lone catch of the day, a 15-yard grab, in the first quarter.

After missing four straight games with an MCL sprain earlier this season, Davis was playing in his third consecutive game before getting injured once again.

Dec. 9, 4:30 p.m.

Michael Clemons is the only player on the Jets' final injury report ahead of Week 14 at the Buffalo Bills.

The defensive end is questionable with an illness.

Previous Jets on the injury report Wednesday and Thursday -- offensive tackle Duane Brown (shoulder), safety Ashtyn Davis (hamstring), wide receiver Corey Davis (illness), offensive tackle George Fant (illness/knee), safety LaMarcus Joyner (hip) and cornerback DJ Reed (illness) -- were upgraded to full participants Friday.

Dec. 8, 1:45 p.m.

Max Mitchell, who was placed on the Non-Football Injury list, was found to have blood clots, sources told SNY's Connor Hughes.

He is said to be in good spirits and grateful doctors caught them when they did.

This is not believed to be long-term or career-threatening.

Dec. 7, 11:45 a.m.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced on Wednesday morning that rookie tackle Max Mitchell has been placed on the Non-Football Injury list, ending his first pro season.

Saleh did not divulge any further details on Mitchell’s situation, saying the team is still sorting some things out.

The head coach did say that George Fant will start at right tackle, and veteran Mike Remmers will be his backup.

A fourth-round pick out of Louisiana Lafayette, Mitchell has played in six games for Gang Green this season, making five starts.

Dec. 3, 5:20 p.m.

Jets activated OT George Fant from injured reserved prior to Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings and could start tomorrow.

Fant missed the last eight games with a knee injury suffered in the team's Week 3 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Fant started 15 games for the Jets last season and was a starting tackle at the start of the 2022-23 campaign before being placed on IR.

The team also placed RT Cedric Ogbuehi (groin) on IR and elevated LB Hamsah Nasirildeen from the practice squad.

Dec. 2, 10:55 a.m.

Head coach Robert Saleh said before practice Friday that RB Michael Carter (low ankle sprain) and OT Cedric Ogbuehi (groin/illness) will both be doubtful for Sunday's Week 13 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Both players did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday.

Saleh also said that safety Ashtyn Davis (hamstring) will not practice Friday and is out for Sunday's contest.

Additionally, Duane Brown (shoulder), Sheldon Rankins (elbow), Kenny Yeboah (calf), and D.J. Reed (non-injury) will all be full participants in practice Friday.

Saleh added that Joe Flacco will be the backup QB again, as Zach Wilson will be inactive for the second straight week.

Nov. 30, 11:55 a.m.

Running back Michael Carter will not practice on Wednesday, according to head coach Robert Saleh, but there’s still a chance that he can suit up on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

Carter is dealing with a low ankle sprain suffered in the win over the Chicago Bears, but Saleh explained that the running back is “going to give it a try for this week,” with the team taking things day-by-day.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the ball, defensive lineman Sheldon Rankins will return to practice on Wednesday, albeit on a limited basis. Rankins dislocated his elbow against the Buffalo Bills on Nov. 6, with the expectation at the time being that he would miss about a month.

Nov. 28, 3:29 p.m.

Head coach Robert Saleh told reporters on Monday that RB Michael Carter has a low ankle sprain and will be questionable for the week.

However, he also mentioned that all players who finished Sunday's game with an injury have a chance to play this Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

Nov. 27, 11:47 p.m.

As expected, wide receiver Corey Davis is active for Sunday's matchup with the Chicago Bears, as he returns to the lineup for the first time since Oct. 23 vs. the Broncos.

However, the Jets' inactive list did have one surprising name on it, as running back James Robinson is a healthy scratch. Robinson has rushed for 75 yards on 25 carries in three games as a Jet.

Nov. 26, 4:30 p.m.

The Jets activated rookie OL Max Mitchell from the IR on Saturday.

Mitchell injured his knee in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and has missed the last five games. He did return to practice on Nov. 16, but was not activated last week for the team's matchup against the New England Patriots.

The rookie has started in three games for the Jets this season at right tackle.

New York also elevated DL Tanzel Smart and LB Chazz Surratt from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears.

Nov. 25, 3:46 p.m.

In the final injury report before Sunday’s contest against the Chicago Bears, the Jets announced some key injury updates.

After returning to practice on Wednesday, Corey Davis was a full participant in Friday’s practice and will play for the first time since Week 7.

Sheldon Rankins is out, Kenny Yeboah is doubtful and Duane Brown is listed as questionable.

Nov. 25, 10:57 a.m.

Wide receiver Corey Davis appears on track to make his return from a knee injury on Sunday when the Jets host the Chicago Bears.

Prior to Friday’s practice, head coach Robert Saleh raved about his veteran receiver who practiced fully on Wednesday and hasn’t played since Week 7.

“He’s by far one of our more productive receivers, just because of what he does not just on the field, but off the field, but also in the run game and all the different things he does,” Saleh said.

Saleh also brought up Davis' effort and detail at practice and "the deliberateness at which he goes about every rep."

Davis will be catching passes from a third different quarterback this season as Mike White will get the start on Sunday after New York benched Zach Wilson earlier this week.

“[I have] such a high regard for Corey and his professional manner…” Saleh said. “There’s a calm with him in the huddle because we are young at that receiver spot.”

Two players who will not suit up for the Jets on Sunday, though, are TE Kenny Yeboah and DL Sheldon Rankins.

Nov. 19, 5:15 p.m.

Prior to their Week 11 matchup with the New England Patriots, the Jets elevated OL Conor McDermott and DL Tanzel Smart from the practice squad.

McDermott, 30, has played in six games this season for New York, including 35 snaps in Week 3 against the Cincinnati Bengals and 41 snaps in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Overall, McDermott has played in 34 games (six starts) over four seasons with the team, including three starts last season.

Smart, 28, played three games for the Jets in 2020 and spent the 2021 season on the practice squad. In 34 career games with the Jets and Los Angeles Rams, Smart has made 24 combined tackles in four seasons.

Nov. 18, 10:54 a.m.

Head coach Robert Saleh said Friday before practice that WR Corey Davis (knee) will miss Sunday's Week 11 game against the New England Patriots.

Davis suffered the injury on Oct. 23 and has missed the last two games. Saleh added that he's confident Davis will be back for the Jets next week when they take on the Chicago Bears.

Additionally, Saleh said that DL Sheldon Rankins (dislocated elbow) will also miss Sunday's game against the Patriots. OL Nate Herbig (shin) and OL Duane Brown (shoulder) will both be limited in practice Friday and are questionable for Sunday, but "should be ready to roll," according to Saleh.

The Jets also announced that they have signed OL Laurent Duvernay-Tardif to the practice squad and released OL Myron Cunningham from the practice squad. Duvernay-Tardif played for the Jets in 2021 before leaving football to complete a part of his medical residency in Canada.

Nov. 14, 3:48 p.m.

Head coach Robert Saleh offered a few injury updates on Monday afternoon as the Jets returned from their bye week...

- WR Corey Davis is still considered day-to-day as he deals with a knee injury suffered against the Denver Broncos on Oct. 23. Saleh noted that Davis worked out at the team facility during the bye week and the Jets will monitor him throughout the week.

- Saleh announced the Jets will open the 21-day practice window for rookie tackle Max Mitchell, who started the first four games of the season at right tackle before being placed on IR with a knee injury. Once the window is open, the Jets will have 21 days to activate Mitchell, or he reverts back to IR for the remainder of the year.

- George Fant (also on IR with a knee injury) will not practice this week, while Sheldon Rankins remains out with a dislocated elbow.

Nov. 7, 2:16 p.m.

Jets DT Sheldon Rankins suffered a dislocated elbow on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, reports SNY's Connor Hughes.

Rankins could miss four-to-six weeks.

The Jets have a bye this week, and pick things up on Nov. 20 against the Patriots at MetLife Stadium.

Rankins has 25 tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble in nine games this season.

Nov. 6, 11:33 a.m.

Running back James Robinson will suit up and play in Sunday's matchup with the Buffalo Bills.

The recently acquired back was downgraded to questionable on Saturday with a knee injury, but he is good to go.

Robinson made his Jets debut last week, rushing for 17 yards in limited snaps against the Patriots.

Nov. 5, 12:20 p.m.

Recently acquired RB James Robinson has been downgraded to questionable for the Week 9 game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday due to a knee injury.

Robinson did not previously appear on the injury report during the week. He ran the ball five times for 17 yards against the New England Patriots in his first game with the Jets on Oct. 30.

If Robinson doesn't play, then Michael Carter and Ty Johnson would carry the load for the backfield.

Additionally, the Jets signed TE Kenny Yeboah to the active roster and elevated OL Conor McDermott from the practice squad for Sunday's game. The team also signed safety Jared Mayden to the practice squad.

Nov. 4, 11:15 a.m.

Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (knee) will miss Sunday’s Week 9 game against the Buffalo Bills, head coach Robert Saleh announced Friday.

Saleh did not elaborate on what type of knee injury Davis sustained, but said the team feels “very confident that he’ll be back after the bye week.”

The Jets' first game after the bye is a rematch with the New England Patriots on Nov. 20.

Nov. 3, 4:30 p.m.

Jets wide receiver Corey Davis (knee) did not practice for the fifth time in a row.

Offensive guard Nate Herbig (hand), however, was a full participant after being limited in Wednesday's practice.

Offensive tackle Duane Brown (shoulder), safety Lamarcus Joyner (hip) and tight end C.J. Uzomah (shoulder), meanwhile, remained limited participants.

Nov. 2, 11:55 a.m.

Jets WR Corey Davis (knee) will not practice Wednesday and is still considered day-to-day, according to head coach Robert Saleh.

"It's on the fence," Saleh said of Davis possibly playing Sunday. "If he's good to go, he's gonna want to go."

Duane Brown, Nate Herbig, C.J. Uzomah, and Lamarcus Joyner were limited in practice, but Saleh says he's not worried about them missing Sunday's game.

Jermaine Johnson will be activated for Sunday's game after missing the last three weeks with an ankle injury.

Nov. 1, 6:45 p.m.

Speaking to the media following the NFL trade deadline, general manager Joe Douglas gave an update on the rehab plans and progress of several Jets players lost to long-term injuries.

Douglas revealed running back Breece Hall and guard Alijah Vera-Tucker have not yet undergone surgery after sustaining injuries on Oct. 23 against the Denver Broncos, but the team is optimistic about their return to the field.

“We love those guys and we love their approach and we love how they handle themselves,” New York’s GM said. “Our docs are very optimistic that these guys are gonna come back full strength next year and hit the ground running.”

Offensive tackle Mekhi Becton, who was lost to knee injury during training camp, has returned to continue his rehab at the team facility after undergoing a procedure in Los Angeles.

“He’s been back in the building since, I wanna say early last month,” Douglas said. “He’s been back, he’s been rehabbing every day in our training room. And I know his focus is coming back next year in the best shape he can be. And as healthy as he can be.

“We feel really optimistic that he’s gonna be full strength for OTAs.”

Oct. 31, 3:50 p.m.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh gave updates on a few players Monday, including a couple of OTs on the IR.

Max Mitchell (knee) and George Fant (knee) are eligible to come off the injured reserve list this week, but Saleh says the team plans to give them some extra time.

"In regards to everybody on IR, that includes George, no one is going to come off until after the bye week," Saleh said over Zoom.

The Jets' bye is in Week 10 after their upcoming matchup with the Bills on Sunday, Nov. 6. The team will return to action Sunday, Nov. 20 against the Patriots on the road.

Saleh also said that Jermaine Johnson (ankle) was inactive not just because of his injury, but he needed some time to get back into their system. As for Corey Davis (knee), Saleh says he's still day-to-day and will be re-evaluated Wednesday.

Oct. 30, 11:45 p.m.

Prior to Sunday's game against the New England Patriots, the Jets announced their inactives for the game.

QB Joe Flacco and Chris Streveler were listed as inactive. It's unclear as to the reasons for the designations, as Streveler was just elevated from the practice squad Saturday. Mike White will serve as the backup QB for Zach Wilson on Sunday.

Jermaine Johnson (ankle) is listed as inactive. While the rookie was limited in practice, Johnson was on the cusp of playing, but it seems like the team will give him another week.

Other inactives include WR Corey Davis, RB Zonovan Knight, CB Bryce Hall and S Tony Adams.

Oct. 28, 10:55 a.m.

Head coach Robert Saleh said Friday ahead of practice that WR Elijah Moore -- who requested a trade last week -- will suit up against the New England Patriots on Sunday.

Moore has not played since Week 5 against the Miami Dolphins, and has made just 16 catches for 203 yards this season.

Saleh added that WR Corey Davis (knee) will not play on Sunday. Davis did not practice this week, and has just 19 receptions for 351 yards with two touchdowns in seven games.

Additionally, Saleh said that George Fant (knee) is week-to-week and the team hopes he can return to the field after the Week 10 bye.

Oct. 24, 3:35 p.m.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh revealed RT Alijah Vera-Tucker tore his triceps Sunday against the Denver Broncos and will miss the rest of the season. He will require surgery.

Saleh said that Cedric Ogbuehi will take AVT's place at right tackle this week. George Fant (knee) is eligible to return from IR, but Saleh said he's "not sure" he'll be back this week.

Saleh also confirmed RB Breece Hall's season-ending ACL injury.

WR Corey Davis (knee) will continue to be evaluated over the course of the week.

Oct. 23, 5:40 p.m.

Rookie RB Breece Hall left the Jets' game against the Denver Broncos in the second quarter with a knee injury. Hall rushed to the outside for two yards before being swamped by Broncos defenders. It seemed like Hall was hit low by a defender and had to be helped off the field.

Hall also had to be carted into the locker room, and the team ruled him out for the rest of the game.

OL Alijah Vera-Tucker (elbow) and WR Corey Davis (knee) also left the game in the first half. The team ruled Vera-Tucker out at halftime while Davis is still questionable to return.

Oct. 21, 4:30 p.m.

Rookie DE Jermaine Johnson (ankle) is officially out for the Jets' Week 7 matchup against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

Johnson didn't practice this week and head coach Robert Saleh told reporters Wednesday that he would likely be out against the Broncos but that they are hopeful to "get him back next week."

The Jets hosted veteran DT Linval Joseph on Friday, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. The former Giants second-round pick could sign with the Jets to give them depth at the position with Johnson out.

Joseph placed for the Chargers last seasons and picked up one sack and 57 tackles in 14 games (12 starts) in 2021.

Oct. 19, 11:50 a.m.

Head coach Robert Saleh said before practice Wednesday that rookie Jermaine Johnson (ankle) won't practice and is likely out for Week 7 against the Broncos in Denver on Sunday.

"Jermaine will be out today. He's getting a lot better, hopefully we can get him back next week," Saleh said.

Johnson suffered the injury in Week 5 against the Miami Dolphins and missed last week's game against the Green Bay Packers. Saleh added that the team is aiming for the defensive end to return next week when they face the New England Patriots at home.

The 23-year-old recorded 12 tackles (eight solo) and 1.5 sacks over the first four games of the season.

Oct. 16, 11:45 a.m.

The Jets' defense got a nice boost on Sunday, with linebacker Quincy Williams returning from an ankle injury.

Williams missed each of the Jets' previous two games after suffering that ankle injury in Week 3 against the Bengals.

On the other side of the ball, OL Mike Remmers was officially inactive for Sunday’s matchup with Green Bay, which was a bit of a surprise considering the Jets elevated the veteran to the active roster from the practice squad on Saturday. The 33-year-old has been on the Gang Green practice squad since being signed amid the team’s multiple O-line injuries.

Oct. 15, 4:00 p.m.

The Jets activated veteran DE Vinny Curry from the injured reserve for Sunday's matchup with the Green Bay Packers, the team announced.

It will be Curry's first game with the Jets after the 34-year-old signed with the team in March 2021 and was forced to miss the entire 2021 season after complications from a spleen removal. Curry was a second-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles and played there until 2017. He then played one season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before returning to the Eagles for the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Additionally, the Jets elevated OL Mike Remmers to their 53-man roster, according to his agent Brett Tessler. Remmers, 33, has been on the Jets practice squad for the past two weeks while getting back into shape after suffering a knee injury last year with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Jets added that TE Lawrence Cager has been released and TE Kenny Yeboah has also been elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's game.

Oct. 14, 10:54 a.m.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Friday that rookie DE Jermaine Johnson (ankle) will be out for Sunday's Week 6 matchup with the Packers in Green Bay.

"He will be reevaluated daily, so we'll see where's he at next week," Saleh said.

Saleh added that everyone else on the team will be a full participant in practice Friday.

Oct. 12, 12:01 p.m.

Quincy Williams (ankle) will return to practice on Wednesday, head coach Robert Saleh said.

DE Carl Lawson, who is dealing with an ankle injury, will be limited but is expected to be able to play on Sunday against the Packers in Green Bay. LB C.J. Mosley will also be limited on Thursday.

Rookie DE Jermaine Johnson (ankle) won't practice on Thursday and remains day-to-day.

Oct. 10, 3:50 p.m.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said rookie DE Jermaine Johnson is considered day-to-day with an ankle injury he suffered in Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins.

While Saleh didn't specify if the injury was a high or low-ankle sprain, he did say that the team doesn't believe it's serious.

"We don’t think it’s severe, but we’ll have more information by the end of the week," he said.

Oct. 8, 4:15 p.m.

The Jets activated LT Duane Brown off the IR on Saturday.

Brown will make his season debut for Gang Green on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

Oct. 7, 1:45 p.m.

Duane Brown spoke to reporters after practice and said that "as of now, I'm good to go" on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

The 37-year-old has yet to suit up for the Jets since signing with the team before the start of the season. He was placed on the IR on Sept. 10 with a shoulder injury and said on Wednesday that surgery "was an option," but he's ready to get back on the field.

Oct. 7, 10:50 a.m.

Head coach Robert Saleh said that veteran OT Duane Brown (shoulder) will practice fully on Friday and is a game-time decision for Sunday's Week 5 matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

Saleh that everyone on the team will practice on Friday besides OT Max Mitchell (knee) and LB Quincy Williams (ankle).

Oct. 6, 3:10 p.m.

Zach Wilson said he practiced fully on Thursday after being a limited participant in practice on Wednesday.

Head coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday the second-year quarterback was "dealing with an ankle," but was "fine."

Oct. 5, 3:25 p.m.

Duane Brown spoke to reporters after his first day back at practice Wednesday, saying that "today was a really good step forward in the right direction" and that he's "feeling good."

Brown noted that shoulder surgery "was an option," but  the 37-year-old has been making strong progress and wants to get back on the field and play as soon as possible. The Jets will practice in full pads Thursday and Brown believes that he'll have a better sense of when he'll return after the practice.

"Today was a really big step in the right direction, and looking forward to tomorrow," Brown said.

Head coach Robert Saleh said earlier Wednesday that QB Zach Wilson "is dealing with a bunch of nicks and bruises" and will be limited in practice.

"Football, dealing with an ankle, but he's fine," Saleh said.

Saleh added that OT Max Mitchell (knee) won't practice and "is probably out this week," LB Quincy Williams won't practice and is doubtful for Week 5, and RB Breece Hall and LB Marcell Harris will be limited in practice.

Additionally, the Jets announced that Brown and DL Vinny Curry would both return to practice on Wednesday from the injured reserve. The team will have a 21-day window to activate them to the roster.

Brown signed with the Jets on Aug. 15 and was placed on the IR with a shoulder injury on Sept. 10 prior to the team's Week 1 game against the Baltimore Ravens. Curry was placed on the IR with a hamstring injury on Sept. 1 after missing all of last season with a rare blood disorder that required the removal of his spleen.

Saleh noted that team will get more information on both players Wednesday and Thursday before making a decision on them playing in games.

Oct. 3, 3:30 p.m.

Head Coach Robert Saleh said he doesn't "have a timetable" for Max Mitchell's knee injury, but said the offensive tackle landing on Injured Reserve is a "possibility."

"Thankfully it's not season-ending and hopefully we do get him back soon, I just don't have a specific timetable for anyone," he said.

The Jets could get a boost to the offensive line with tackle Duane Brown (shoulder) now eligible to come off IR. Saleh said the team will evaluate his progress over the next two days before determining if it is time to start the clock on his return to action.

"Hopefully we get the opportunity to get him out to the practice field so he can test it to see where’s he at, but a lot of stuff will be determined over the next 48 hours," Saleh said, before saying it would be "premature" to say if Brown could play this week.

Defensive end Vinny Curry (hamstring) is also eligible to come off IR this week, and Saleh said he will be evaluated Wednesday and a decision can be made then.

Oct. 3, 12:50 p.m.

Max Mitchell and the Jets got some positive news on the offensive tackle's knee injury suffered against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

While Mitchell does have a dislocated knee that will require him to miss several weeks, his injury is not season-ending, and should return to the Jets long before the season ends, per NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

Oct. 2, 3:05 p.m.

Jets OT Max Mitchell left the team's Week 4 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a knee injury and was ruled out for the rest of the game.

Mitchell, the fourth-round rookie, had to be carted off the field in the second quarter. While the team originally stated he was questionable to return at halftime, he was downgraded to out when the third quarter began.

Mitchell's injury is the latest for the Jets' offensive line. Mekhi Becton, Duane Brown, and George Fant are all tackles that have been sidelined with injuries this season.

Sept. 30, 11:17 a.m.

Quincy Williams has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, with head coach Robert Saleh saying Williams' status will be evaluated again ahead of Week 5.

Williams (ankle) did not participate in practice for the Jets on Thursday for the second consecutive day. The linebacker was carted off the field during the third quarter of last Sunday's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Sept. 28, 11:49 a.m.

As expected, Zach Wilson has been cleared to return and start for the Jets in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, head coach Robert Saleh told reporters on Wednesday.

Wilson has missed the first three games of the season due to a knee injury.

With Joe Flacco under center for Wilson, the Jets started the season 1-2.

Sept. 26, 3:50 p.m.

Jets OT George Fant has been placed on IR after injuring his knee in Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals, per Robert Saleh.

Saleh said there is a possibility that the injury could lead to a week off, but the team will see how Fant responds in practice.

The second-year head coach also confirmed Quincy Williams' injury and that he "dodged a bullet." It'll be a week-to-week situation for Williams.

Sept. 26, 2:43 p.m.

The Jets received good news on linebacker Quincy Williams, who was carted off the field in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Bengals.

X-rays on Williams' ankle were negative, and the injury seems to be a sprain, per multiple reports.

There is no timetable yet for when Williams might return to action.

Sept. 25, 11:25 a.m.

Jets QB Zach Wilson is expected to be cleared by doctors next week, allowing him to take the field in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

SNY's Connor Hughes said that Wilson will return to practice fully with the first-team offense, and as long there are no setbacks this week, it is "full steam ahead" for Wilson to start in Week 4.

Wilson has been progressing in his recovery from a meniscus tear and bone bruise in his knee that he suffered in the preseason against the Philadelphia Eagles, and has not had any setbacks.

He was on the field Sunday throwing in workout clothes before the team's matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Head coach Robert Saleh told reporters on Sept. 21 that Wilson has been progressing in practice and doing more, but has not participated in 11-on-11 yet. The Jets said that Wilson was expected to be back by Week 4 at the earliest, and the team wants him to be "110 percent" healthy before playing in a regular season game.

Sept. 23, 11:10 p.m.

Jets tight end C.J. Uzomah (hamstring) was a full participant in Friday's practice and is set to return to the lineup ahead of the team's Week 3 matchup against his former team, the Cincinnati Bengals.

After missing the team's Week 2 win over the Browns, Uzomah was limited in practice on Wednesday but has seemingly progressed positively since. His status for Sunday will be revealed after practice today.

Sept. 21, 12:55 p.m.

Zach Wilson, who has missed Week 1 and Week 2 due to a knee injury and has already been ruled out for Week 3, will continue to be limited in practice Wednesday.

Wilson will do more than he's been doing in practice recently, but has not yet been cleared for 11-on-11, head coach Robert Saleh told reporters.

With Joe Flacco currently filling in for Wilson, Saleh reaffirmed that Wilson will be the starting quarterback when he's ready to return.

Sept. 14, 12:05 p.m.

Place kicker Braden Mann is dealing with back stiffness and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns, head coach Robert Saleh told reporters Wednesday.

Saleh elaborated that Mann's condition is considered "week-to-week" and not a long-term issue.

The Jets signed PK Ty Long on Wednesday to be Mann's backup in case he can't go. Long spent the last three seasons with the Chargers.

Sept. 12, 4:04 p.m.

Zach Wilson (knee) will return to practice this week and be involved in "routes on air" drills and work with receivers in individual drills, head coach Robert Saleh told reporters on Monday.

Wilson is expected to be out until at least Week 4.

In Wilson's place, Joe Flacco got the start during New York's Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Sept. 10, 4:00 p.m.

Head coach Robert Saleh said on Friday that it was a possibility, and now it sounds like offensive tackle Duane Brown is indeed landing on the Injured Reserve lists.

According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, Brown will be placed on IR on Saturday. Garafolo reports that the team and Brown considered surgery on his injured shoulder, but the decision has been made to have Brown rehab to see if he can be ready by Week 5.

Sept. 9. 1:55 p.m.

Jets CB DJ Reed said that he is "ready to go" for Sunday's matchup against the Baltimore Ravens after suffering a knee injury, which limited him in practice this week, in the team's final preseason game against the Giants.

Reed said he "dodged a bullet" when he tackled Saquon Barkley, the play he injured his knee in. The first-year Jet said he stepped on Barkley's shoe and his knee buckled, but he is expecting to play in Week 1.

Sept. 9, 11 a.m.

Robert Saleh said OL Duane Brown will miss Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens with a shoulder injury. Saleh also said that there's a possibility Brown could land on injured reserve.

More information will come out in the next 24 hours, per Saleh.

George Fant will move to LT and rookie Max Mitchell will play RT for the Jets this Sunday.
