In a bit of a surprising move, wide receiver Allen Lazard is sticking with the Jets for the 2025 season.
According to multiple reports, the veteran wide receiver, who was due to make $11 million this season, has agreed to a restructured contract that will save the Jets $8.5 million, with the team guaranteeing $1.75 million of Lazard's new deal.
Lazard, 29, has had two uninspiring seasons with the Jets, totaling 841 receiving yards in 26 games. He did catch six touchdown passes in 2024, but his relative lack of production, plus his steep salary, made him a prime candidate to be cut. Instead, Lazard and the Jets were able to find middle ground on a deal to bring him back.
While Lazard hasn't been a game-changer for the Jets, bringing him back should help quarterback Justin Fields by giving him a veteran target in an otherwise young wide receivers group, headlined by Garrett Wilson and also featuring Malachi Corley, Xavier Gipson, and newcomer Josh Reynolds.
