Jets 2025 NFL Mock Draft Roundup: Experts split between offense or defense for Gang Green

Who will the Jets take with the seventh overall pick?

After going through an extensive search following their separation from GM Joe Douglas, the Jets decided to take a shot on assistant GM Darren Mougey from the Denver Broncos.

Mougey held various positions during his journey through the organization, and he now comes to the Big Apple where he'll be tasked with helping turn around a squad that finished 5-12 last season and hasn't made the playoffs in 14 years.

With the first wave of free agency done with, his next task is to tackle the NFL Draft.

After another rough season, Gang Green currently holds the seventh overall pick in the 2025 edition of the draft.

Here's what the experts have them doing...

Tom Fornelli, CBS Sports

DL Mason Graham, Michigan

With Will Campbell and Armand Membou off the board the Jets pivot from their offensive line to the defensive line, grabbing the DT1 on my board.

QB Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss

I don't doubt the Jets believe in Justin Fields, but I also think that won't necessarily preclude them from drafting a QB. Competition between Fields and Dart will help the team figure out if either player can become Gang Green's long-term answer.

QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado

The New York Jets hired Aaron Glenn as their head coach and decided to move on from Aaron Rodgers. Justin Fields is currently the Jets’ QB1, but he’s on his third NFL team and may not be the team’s long-term answer. This is an organization that needs a star, and there might not be a bigger star in the draft than Sanders.

Sanders would be surrounded by Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall and protected by an improved offensive line. While his arm strength is average, Sanders’ quick release could likely pay dividends early as the rookie figures it out.

OT Armand Membou, Missouri

The Jets have their franchise left tackle in Olu Fashanu, but they still need a similar long-term plan on the other side of the offensive line. Membou's film was already stellar, and then he showed off ridiculous athleticism with a stellar workout at the NFL Scouting Combine, checking every box to be a top-10 pick.

Kyle Dvorchak, NBC Sports

OT Will Campbell, LSU

The Jets signed sack-taking machine Justin Fields in free agency, putting extra pressure on their offensive line for the upcoming season. Campbell’s underwhelming arm length became a big talking point at the combine, but he may have silenced the critics by stretching out to 33 inches at his pro day.

Brent Sobleski, Bleacher Report

OT Armand Membou, Missouri

A running quarterback in Justin Fields, with a talented running back stable, can benefit greatly from a strong offensive line capable of consistently winning at the point of attack.

The New York Jets nearly have all the pieces in place. Right tackle remains open, though. Missouri's Armand Membou can complete a relatively young and talented group.

James Foster, 33rd Team

DL Mason Graham, Michigan

The primary cause of New York’s defensive regression and overall disappointing season was the downfall of their defensive line. Trying to replace John Franklin-Myers and Quinton Jefferson with Javon Kinlaw and Leki Fotu ended up being a huge mistake, but adding Mason Graham would help this unit return to 2023 form.

Graham won’t be for everyone, as he lacks ideal length to free himself from contact and transition to counters when he gets tied up. But his ability to generate quick pass-rushing wins would synergize with a pocket-pusher like Quinnen Williams.
