Who is starting for the Mets?
LHP Jason Vargas (3-3, 3.74 ERA) who has become one of the Mets' most reliable pitchers this season. He lasted just four innings his last start due to a calf cramp, but he holds a 2.39 ERA in his last nine starts and has not allowed more than three runs in a start since April 13.
Who is starting for the Cubs?
RHP Yu Darvish (3-1, 3.60 ERA), who is coming off his best start of the season, where he held the Los Angeles Dodgers to just one run on two hits and struck out 10 over seven innings. Darvish has a 2.96 ERA in his last four starts.
