The Mets (3-2) look to clinch their first series win of the season Wednesday night, when Jacob deGrom takes the mound against the Red Sox at 7:10 p.m. on SNY. Boston will hand the ball to Nathan Eovaldi.

METS NOTES

The Mets have taken the first two games of the series over the Red Sox, including Tuesday night's 8-3 win. David Peterson made his MLB debut and had a solid outing, pitching 5.2 innings of two run, seven hit ball. Peterson also walked two and struck out three in the debut.

J.D. Davis hit his first home run of the season, a two-run shot out to right field. Pete Alonso continued to struggle at the plate Tuesday despite hitting his first homer of the season the night before. He finished the game 0-for-4 to bring his season totals down to 2-for-20.

With a win Wednesday, the Mets would clinch their first series win over the Red Sox since 2009.
