Mets notes

After a slow start to the season, Robinson Cano is finding his groove. Over his last 10 games, he's batting .381 with five doubles, five RBIs, a homer and four runs scored with a .994 OPS. ... Amed Rosario can increase his hitting streak to 10 with a knock Friday. The streak is already at a career-high nine games. ... With eight home runs already, Pete Alonso can tie the Mets' record for homers in April (nine) with another long ball. Neil Walker was the most recent Met to club eight in the first month of the season (2016). ... Mets starters entered last series against the Phillies with a 5.64 staff ERA but lowered that mark to 4.97 after their trio of starters allowed two earned runs over 17 2/3 innings.

Who is starting for the Brewers?

RHP Chase Anderson (2-0, 3.00 ERA). After being left off Milwaukee's postseason roster last year on the team's run to the NLCS and starting this season in the bullpen, he made his first start of 2019 against the Dodgers on Saturday. He rewarded the Brewers with five scoreless innings and gets his second shot today.

Who is starting for the Mets?

He's back. RHP Jacob deGrom (2-2, 3.68 ERA) will start no matter what the weather entails. Manager Mickey Callaway went so far as to say that he will start the first game of a potential doubleheader Saturday. That's surely a good sign regarding his health.

DeGrom has allowed nine earned runs over his last two starts with five homers in nine innings.

Upcoming schedule

RHP Noah Syndergaard will look to get back on track against Brewers RHP Brandon Woodruff at 7:10 p.m. on Saturday.
