The Mets (67-60, 9.0 GB in NL East, 1.5 GB for second Wild Card) start up their three-game series against the NL East-leading Atlanta Braves (77-52, 6.0 GA in NL East) at Citi Field on Friday night at 7:10 p.m.

Mets Notes

The Mets finished off their sweep of the Cleveland Indians, beating them 2-0 on Thursday night. Noah Syndergaard was spectacular on the mound, throwing just 73 pitches through 6.0 innings. He had a perfect game going on until Tyler Naquin singled to center field with one out in the top of the sixth inning. Then the rain came down, as the game was delayed in the bottom of the sixth inning. Wilson Ramos extended his hitting streak to 16-games, it's the longest active streak in the MLB. He delivered a two-run double in the bottom of the fourth inning, as Joe Panik and Michael Conforto scored the only runs of the game. The Mets have outscored their opponents 114-73 so far in the month of August, and rank third in the majors with a .292 batting average this month.
