The Islanders traded forward Andrew Ladd to the Coyotes on Saturday along with a 2021 second-round pick, a 2022 second-round pick, and a 2023 conditional third-round pick.
Although there is no technical return from Arizona to New York in the trade, sending Ladd to the Coyotes frees up $5.5 million for the Isles to spend in free agency this offseason.
Ladd, 35, is set to make $11 million over the next two seasons, a sum now owed to him by Arizona.
